1 hour - 1 rod - 1 jig - 1 fish

Everyone else was posting jig fish, I figured I'd keep it going!

I went out just for an hour to practice up on jigs, I have been catching some decent fish on them, but I'm not confident enough with them. So I took only 1 rod and headed out there.

I had 2-3 hits and finally after about 30 minutes, hooked my one and only fish of the night. 3lb 6oz. (Man do I love finally having a scale, I weigh anything I catch now!! )

Thank you sir, I'm getting the hang of it, just trying to put my own touch and feel to it and get down a pattern.

None the less, jig fishing is awesome and is my favorite bait already!

Sorry Muddy  :-[

Thanks guys, and LBH, I have been fishing a jig my own way for about 2-3 weeks now. But that fish came off a combination of my retrieve and a bit from your video.

congrats man.  thats a pretty looking fish.  keep em comin'!

Question for ya, Brokejew.  Do you keep the weedguards on, trim them a little, or cut them off altogether?

Trim the guard, Remove about 1/4 of them, then fan them out. This one I caught on an Evolution Jig, with a fluorocarbon weed guard, they're pretty need, I recommend going out and picking up a few.

Congrats on the nice looking fish! The best way to get confidence in a bait is to just take the one out with you.
