Jr. Joins Hendrick MotorSports

Featured Replies

Personally I was hoping that Jr. would join my favorite driver, Tony Stewart, at Joe Gibbs racing. After all, Stewart and Jr. have a good friendship and they have worked like teammates together in the past. I have always liked Jr. and his dad is my favorite driver of all time. But now that Jr. has gone to the "dark side" I've got nothing more for him than I do Jimmy Johnson and his rainbowed friend. I hope Stewart puts him in the wall. Jr. should have more cajones than to go to Hendrick Racing. To me he's just like Johnny Damon, a trader. If you're on the Red Sox and you want to be traded, fine... but for God's Sake man, don't go to the Yankees!

thank god!!!!! another stewart fan!!!!

BTW .....did anyone hear the story about VISA offering to match whatever budweiser would in order to get JR with gibbs racing?

Why do people dislike Gordon? I don't get it. Is it because he wins races? In the past several years, I've seen many outlandish and stupid antics performed by other drivers, but you don't see people hating them. What gives?

Glenn, His nickname, the "rainbow warrior" represents the colors that are flown by Gays. Thus the Rainbow warrior!!!!!! and racing was primarily a southern sport.

Matt

No way, have you seen the man's wife?

good point but two words.......COVER UP

^^^^^^joke,

i by no means like gordon and dislike him buut cant quite put my finger on the reason why,,probably cuz he needs to learn to SHUT UP...for instance calling tony stewart the rossie o'donell of nascar,if i was stewart i would have clocked the guy for saying a thing like that  >:(

Why Earnhardt fans hate Gordon...

1. Whiner- Catt explained this pretty well. (this list isnt in order but this would be #1). It seems recently that he doesnt do this much anymore but that is because he has been winning. It is never his fault and if everyone hadn't raced crazy then he would have won (according to him).

2. Not one of them- When he came into the sport he was a Cali boy that wasnt from the south. Didnt sound like them and wasnt your stereotypical good-ol-boy.

3. Dale Sr. didnt like him- he had a rivalry on the track . If your drive doesnt like another driver then the fan dislikes the driver. The Dale Sr. fans all moved on to being Dale Jr. fans so the rivalry went along with it.

4. He won to much- I have been a fan for a long time and when i first got in to racing it seemed like Gordon won every race and the championship every year through the mid to late 90's back when he dominated with Ray Evernham. I call this the Yankee effect. Because of reasons 1-3 the fans disliked Gordon, and so you dont like to see him win. So when he wins it makes you mad and it just piles up because he does it every week. People dont like the New York Yankees, and when they are winning it makes it worse.

They have a shirt that explains it. You can probably picture a fat drunk dixie-loving Earnhardt fan wearing it. gordon.jpg

Here is the view of most southern Jeff Gordon Haters. (I am not one of them)

"Who is this West Coast Pretty Boy in the Rainbow car who came from obscurity to beat up on my favorite drivers to win a championship with a team called the Rainbow Warriors.

He didn't earn his way to the top. He whines when he doesn't win and he cheats all the time so he can win."

What a bunch of crap. It has happened in the past and we see it happening to Jeff. Michael Waltrip and Dale Earnhardt were both hated early in their careers because they came in and won allot. There always has to be a villain and the NASCAR fans chose Jeff for now.

The way Earnhardt fans throw beer bottles and stuff at Gordon isnt good for the sport, but having that rivalry is good for the sport.

I think you mean Darrell as Mikey never won much of anything save for a few superspeedway races.

All drivers do whine from time to time but Gordon is an excessive whiner, sometimes he whines when he wins.

I hate when people compare a sons to their father with the expectation that the son should be just a good when in reality all having a great father means is you have a good teacher.

There is but 1 Richard Petty, 1 Dale Earnhardt, 1 Michael Jordon, 1 Tiger Woods & to expect their offspring to be as great is total
