%&*#*@# VANDALS

I just got a PM from bshaner. The poor guy came home from work last night to find his brand new Triton vandalized. Half of his equipment was stolen, and his tires were slashed.

What makes it even worse is, he had a BFL tournament on St. Clair this weekend. Now he can't go.

Just thought I'd let everybody know we have a member that could use some cheering up.

THat sucks big time.  I hope they catch the crooks and hang them out to dry.  Stories like this really tick me off.  I hope in some way some how he can get those wheels fixed and get a couple rods and still fish.

Was any major damage done to the boat itself?

He didn't mention anything about other damage, just the tires and equipment.

It really sucks when you work so hard to get the finer things in life, and people treat it like that.

I hate to hear about this kind of stuff. About 3 weeks ago, I went out to go to work, and found one of my car's windows smashed in. They stole my gadget bag, but left all my fishing tackle. They got a Dell Axim, Pharos GPS, a couple of 2 gig jump drives, some SD cards, tools, knife, multi-tool, etc. About $1600 worth of stuff all together. I'm also out two days of work, that's $500+.

And, according to the police, it's been kids around town looking for purses to get money and smokes. They look in car windows until they find a purse, smash and grab. The police have even found a few of the stolen ones dumped in parking lots, alleys and dumpsters. The thieves have left credit cards, driver's licenses, check books, etc. The only thing that seems to be missing is money and smokes.

My gadget bag looked enough like a purse that I took a little grief from some of my buddies about carrying a purse around, so I guess the kids thought they'd found one.

Anyway, I'm out better than 2 grand, and the kiddies get neither money, nor smokes. I'd like to catch the little scoundrels, but there's not much chance of that.

My sympathies, bshaner, I know how bad this sucks. At least they did not get any of my tackle, and I had quite a bit in the back end of the car.

Sorry for your loss.  My wife had her Coach purse stolen out of her car at the gym.  Credit cards, check books, everything...  The worst part is the broken window which cost me $200 to replace.  The purse, wallet, and check book covers I had to replace (my wife still hasn't told me what that cost).  And the amount of time cancelling accounts, getting new credit cards and being worried about identity theft.  Criminals SUCK!
