Shakey Heads

Featured Replies

Just bought a few 1/8 oz. shakey heads... never have fished with these before and was wondering what baits you guys have been using???

Thanks.

For shakey head fishing I use Zoom Finesse worms in various sizes, and also Black Widow shakey head worms.  Both manufactures worms float which is the most important reason for using them. You want the tail to float not sink while the nose is slightly bouncing on the bottom.

Like Drop Shotting, just slightly shake your rod tip.

Any soft plastic will do. I've caught fish shakey style with a chunk as the lure ;D

Mainly I use a trick worm or beaver.

What Brian said - Don't limit yourself to just worms. Most every plastic can be rigged on a shakey head. I've done things like tubes, beavers, grubs and craw worms. Half the fun is in experimenting with different baits. The bass will eat them all  :)

Roboworm Straight Tails, I think they are perfect for shakey heads.

Chompers Super Wacky Worm, Zoom Trick, and Gulp! Nightcrawler all have produced well for me, but i'm going to be experimenting w/ tiny brush hogs, sweet beavers, ect.

I will agree with this to a certain extent. Any bait will do, don't just limit our self to worms but if the bait doesn't float you might as well just t-rig it and save a little money. The shakey head was designed to let the tail of the bait float while holding the head to the bottom with a light weight.

My $.02  :)
