  1. primetime... thats a nice bass... being from Texas we always add a few lbs. on and take real close pics... but really that bass in pic looks at least 10lbs. to me...
  2. I went way overboard.. already had too many but just added a zillion and a mgx.... my two fav reels i have are the mgx and curado 300e... 2 fav rod is the carrot stix and its a awesome rod... duckett white ice terry scroggins model..very light and casts a long ways..
  3. thanks guys... guess i need to get a scale and quit bumping em up a few lbs. thats not the biggest bass i ever caught but certainly the fattest...
  4. try a senko fluke powerworm and spinnerbait... no bites maybe no fish..
  5. thanks... it felt real heavy but at just 21.5 inches it's hard to say...
  6. fishing at a little pond the other day and didn't have a scale and forgot to measure the girth... my hands and knees were shaking after i caught it and the pics don't show as good as how fat this fish was.... it was 21.5 inches long.. and i caught it out in the middle on a blue powerworm..tx rig... it felt very heavy and 2 other fisherman there thought it went 10 lbs... I know a fish of this length should only weigh 5-6 lbs. max... it was pregnant and had been eating a lot... was as wide as it was long...
  7. I bought 2 on black friday... they have the Spiderwire tackle bag at Academy.. with the trapdoor on the sides... love it... but if you want a bigger one they have the one at Cabelas that holds the bigger tackle trays.. 5 of them... think it's called theCabelas x50... I bought one and it's real cool looking...might check their website to see if they still have them... I paid 29.99 without the boxes and I think the are 59.99 with the boxes...
  8. heres a new one i just bought...
  9. she wants me to buy an airbrush to save time.. probably just hand paint the first batch to see how it goes.. already getting in deep on this... but I am excited to see if they will catch fish... I have a friend with a really good lake I'm going to test a few in.... THose in the pics aren't her work, but just a sample we may go off of..... Thanks... Mike L. your in.. no more field testers... with the guys I have now... I have enough to fine tune and get the right lures out there.... it's still gonna take some time with Christmas coming up... but will give everyone a lot of advanced notice.... thanks. Ben
  10. sure... I'm sure it will look great... It's a labor of love... we're not gonna make on them... I really wanted lures to fish with for myself, but no harm in selling a few later on... not sure on price yet... I'm gonna give a price break to Clint C. and Road Warrior to field test a few... if they are interested...?? The blanks are supposed to be original Lucky Crafts 2.5 Rattling... And I have one Rapala DT blank... I put it up a lucky craft lure I have and it looks exactly the same... Ben
  11. Bass will hammer Storm Wiggle warts !!!!!!!! all the colors are good... but I love the chrome colors... I'm sure no walleye expert... living down south and all... but I have caught a few...
  12. I'm glad I know where to find them now.. bought a few on ebay but were super pricey... I love the black skirt/red blade in 3/8 oz.. I've never tried the other colors because I always had super luck with the black one... Those bass hate that thing... the strikes are so ferocious.. hang on tight or you might lose your rod. heee I will tell you the white/gold blade looks awesome... I see on R. Martin's show he tears em up on that color.. Yes they do run true... and I fish them on braid, but didn't like it so much, because if you get a wind knot the lure slung off... I use a palomar knot and it happened.... I think I just had a bad batch of line.... Never tried it on anything else, but I used to fish buzz baits on mono line.... and I'm sure the guys could help you with some good brands... I use Trilene big game mono...
  13. thanks... ill be sure to make a bluegill color... it will be a while before i get them done with xmas coming up...
  14. sure i will do that.. if it casts as good as the stx and is as smooth it will be great... The cara rod is for crankbaits so I'm sure I will like it...
  15. thanks I will take a look at that... might be a great color...heres a sample of her artwork...
  16. well here's a update... I picked up an order at a fishing store... and saw the Revo Mgx... I liked the feel of it and also the Revo Premier... I have had a Revo Stx in the past so I'm a big fan of Revos... I got my money back for the Shimano and found a deal on the Revo Mgx... I have a Falcon Cara gonna put it on so hopefully it will be a nice combination... Shimano fans- don't fret... I have a shimano Calcutta baitcaster, and a Shimano spinning reel...
  17. I only fish powerpro braid and it casts awesome and is long lasting... The way I do it is tape my knot down... I don't use backing and it's never give me a problem....
  18. Falcon Bucoo Micro Trapcaster... works great with buzzbaits, crankbaits, lipless crankbaits, spinnerbaits, jigs, and even plastic worms... and it's light as a feather... it comes in under $100 if u look for a deal...
  19. A gen2 Revo sTx works awesome with braid and it even has the wiffle spool to help with line tying... This reel is as smooth as butter with powerpro braid... I've fished it several years and have yet to put mono on it...
  20. if there is a academy store nearby wait for the sale and buy a Mettle baitcasting reel for 29.99.... Take my word for it- it will cast unbelievable distances... and this should help get the lure out to the fish... It's their in house brand but it has 10 bb and feels very similar to the revo stx to me...
  21. that frog lure is called the pow pow wotta I believe and goes for around 30 bucks on ebay..
  22. I would still like some ideas for color choices.
  23. I have a lot of Lucky Craft Rc 2.5 blanks in storage.... My wife is a master painter/artist and does murals at our church... I will get some pics up shortly of her work... I have talked her into custom painting some lucky crafts for me. Just looking for feedback on color choices fisherman may be interested in. Ben
  24. ive moved people cleaned out garages etc. just got pat on the back... wow some nice lures... I'd be interested in buying a few if you ever sold any of them...
