  1. topwater or buzzbaits at sun up ... like Cavitron or pop r... then zoom fluke, and watermelon senkos.... also try a blue fleck powerworm...
  2. those are cool looking pics... .I just bought this old bagley lure...
  3. wow those are super nice... what is the creek chub worth in the first pic??
  4. wow can't wait to see that... they gotta be worth a ton being that old !!!!
  5. Well recently it's gotten real bad... started collecting lures as a hobby and don't fish with the vintage ones... some lures I sold I wish I had back are pretty rare now... 2 billy bass lures... Anyways- I've bought a few really cool looking lures lately and I'll try and get a pic up of one I recently bought... If you have a rare or unique lure, or just your favorite lure pic I'd be interested in seeing it being a lure junkie....
  6. let us know if they go back on sale... I have been using off brand strike king shimmey sticks and strike king zeros... but would def. try the real senkos for that price...
  7. yeah a lot of guys talk about the old Chronarch 50mg... they still cost big money so must be an awesome reel.... Anyways tested out the reel today and was super smooth reeling in a crankbait... I just strung some old mono on it to try it out... It casted a good distance, but not as far as the Mettle I bought on black friday from academy... I had new powerpro braid on it and that probably made a difference... As far as the fishing went had 4 or 5 strikes, but didn't catch anything...
  8. I don't know much about the Loomis rods... never tried em but they have the reputation of being the best... and by all the folks on here who like em they have to be great.... I bought a Falcon Bucoo Micro 7' MH lately and I love the rod.. it's in your price range for sure... very light and sensitive, yet strong as well.... Still I dream of upgrading to the FALCON CARA.... which to me is the ultimate bass rod.... I know their are better ones out there, more expensive, but the feel on this rod just cant be touched.... I also know by the members on here that the DOBYN's rods are super and are in your range for sure... there's a guy on here that sells them, and I'm sure he'd make you a great deal.... Anyways good luck...
  9. yes I had the original Revo Stx and it fished great.... when I bought the new model fished great a few trips, then wouldn't cast worth a flip... I have never had one issue with Shimano reels in the past.... Gonna test it out today if it warms up any today and see how it works out... thanks for the comments...
  10. red eye shad... YICK Helicopter lure... bought the kit and never got a strike!!! And the worst one... I'd give em all away if I didn't have to pay shipping on these are the dang discontinued Lucky Craft RC lures.. Haven't had a bite yet on em and paid thru the roof..... :laugh5: heeeee just kidding on the lucky crafts....
  11. these are all good lures I've seen that have been posted... I fish down in Texas but I'm sure the stuff I use will work up there.... Sometimes you need to downsize and use like a small weight.. worm weight or split shot... w/ tx. rig worm... in high pressured situations or when a lot of moss is present.... Also, employ the drop shot rig in your arsenal... I also love lipless crankbaits... like the rapala rattlin rap.. and crankbaits KVD 1.5 and bomber fat free shad As far as some soft plastics... I use Berkley powerworm.. blue fleck.... Gene Larew salt craw.. any color will work..... Shimmey Sticks... wal mart... watermelon... throw in a few spinnerbaits... booyah and terminator are great s.baits.... And my fav.. topwater.... Stanley Ribbit Frog.... Buzzbaits are often overlooked... but get A CAvitron buzzbait.. awesome in black red blade.... And maybe one of the top lures of all time.. right up there with senko...... zoom fluke watermelon seed.... If i had to choose only 3 lures to fish with the rest of my life.. would be powerworm, senko, fluke... cant catch em on this you just cant catch em
  12. looks like they are $5.99 now
  13. yeah revos are good.. just had a problem and hadn't used the reel very much.... casted the chronarch a few times out in the yard... and casted a long ways... reeled pretty smooth..
  14. Dont wanna ramble on too much here but had a problem with my Revo Stx (big loss of casting distance) and took it back to Bass Pro... salesman stated that they had a Shimano that was an excellent reel, so I swapped for this one... a Shimano Chronarch 200e6 reel...6:5:1 7bb (the white one) Putting it on a Falcon Bucoo trapcaster MH 7' Rod. Just wondering if anyone has tried this reel, and your opinions on it... I haven't used the reel yet, and was wondering whether to keep it, or to take it back and trade for another reel.... Looking to stay around $200 but would pay a little more for a good quality reel... I have had a Calcutta I used for 15 years, and just bought a new one about a year ago.. Gonna use this setup for rattle traps and crankbaits mainly... and would like to stay with a low profile type reel.
  15. get a spinning rod with 6 to 8 lb. flurocarbon.... try a dropshot rig with either a zoom trick worm or a zoom finesse worm in watermelon or red colors... can't fish it too slooooooooooooooooowwwww...
  16. you bet... the rapala is new... A rapala downdeep crankbait... I was wondering if anyone knew what it might be worth??? and the cordell hotspot in the picture.. was worth?? I haven't seen that color before is why I bought it..... On top of my sad lure addiction with fishing... I've now got even worse and started to collect old/antique lures.... One wiggle wart I bought set me back 30 big ones.... If anyone out there reads this and is interested post what your most expensive lure is... and why you like it??????????????????????????
  17. I buy the Grande Bass Rattlesnake at Academy... if your having to order them you might check and see if they have them in stock where u live...
  18. Wow can't wait to try the Northstar spinnerbait.. never even heard of it before.. sounds good... I hate to say it but chatterbait is awful good... the reason I say it is the tear up easy and you miss a ton of strikes, if you don't put on a trailer hook.... chart white is a great color.... in the 1/4 oz. size... Check the ads at BPS all the time.. I remember I think it was last year they had the terminators one day for $2 apiece and they are a fantastic spinnerbait... An older spinnerbait at BPS, which is pricey is the Tornado.... it flat out catches fish... I'm an econo spender on lures and if I'll pay 5.99 or 6.99 for one it's great.... I like CHart. pepper color in 3/8 oz. My friend is sold on War eagle, although I've never tried one... He's caught a ton of fish on them... good luck.
  19. Yes- I'm glad someone brought this up... it's a part of your arsenal you need, that is often overlooked.... Some of my biggest bass ever have come on Berkley Powerworm blue fleck 10".... I fished a small lake last spring known for smaller bass... so I traded him a big powerworm for a smaller worm... First cast his rod was bent double, and he got a 10 lb. bass nearly to the bank on a spinning rod, before his line suddenly broke.... I like them on 5/0 hooks....
  20. thanks aavery... seen most of em but never seen it before... thanks a lot....
  21. well I did want to say first off to the first poster- I have had good luck on the black and red blade Cavitron... they are expensive, but I annilated the bass on a trip a few months ago.... Biggest surprise-Rapala Rattlin' Rap/ Gene Larew Salt Craw/Zoom fluke.....Rattlin' Rap- chrome/blue back is tough to beat... once caught 22 bass in a few hours on this incredible lure.... Salt craw-the fish tear them up at a lake by my house... chart., or brown/orange... they are very soft and tear easy and are hard to find though... Biggest disappointment- Strike King Red Eye Shad.. yet to get a strike on this lure... arrrghhhh
  22. I bought these lures at a flea market last week for $2 apiece... the lure at the bottom- the bug type lure- I've never seen before... I was wondering if anyone knew the name and manufacturer of this lure?? Thanks...
  23. Zara Spook or 10" powerworm... it's a tie..
  24. Don't buy a Rapala Rattlin rap in chrome blue back... you'll fish the pond out..if you keep fish...
  25. zoom fluke might work... I used this lure last year and it worked great...watermelon seed color
