in a local pond close to my house the baitfish mostly seem to be tilapia, so i was wondering if anybody on this site new of any kind of crankbait that resembles a tilapia?

I disagree with you.  using a bait that resembles what bass are eating in the lake will always work.

x2  the Tru-Life swimbait that Tru-Tungsten makes is an incredible tilapia imitator.  I also strongly disagree with Bass-Brat's opinion that matching the hatch isn't necessary.  Imitating local baitfish gives you one more advantage on the bass.  

I'm not sure if there is a tilapia colored crankbait out there.  If I were you, I would get a few of my favorite baits and send them to someone to get custom painted.  That way, it matches the tilapia perfectly, and you have confidence in the crankbait your throwing.

cant beat the detail of mattlures blugill baits, although i would recoment getting the ultimate, not the regular

beat me to it, that strike king looks good BTW- if you look hard you will find a few tilapia imitators in hard baits- you can match it with soft plasitcs too
