I hope some of you crotch rocket riders will slow down. Don't want to loose any forum members this way, and neither does your own family.

slow down for your mother, wife, kids, and grandkids

Matt

Hey Matt-

I can't watch the video because I'm at work (blocked), but we have a little 6 year old girl who comes to church every Wednesday night who lost her (then) 23 year old dad on a crotch rocket about a year ago.  The police said he was going 120 mph and accelerating as he ran into a lady who pulled out in front of them (she couldn't see them [yes, he and another were racing] coming over the hill at such a high rate of speed).

Now his little girl has to grow up without a daddy.  Was it worth it?

You can still see the sadness in this little girl's eyes.

About a month ago we had two of them rear end a car pulling out of a drive way. They said the bikes were going like 120. But I don't belive that. The car was pretty banged up for a couple of bikes going 120. I think every one is ok now. I just cant figure out why they need to go that fast.

There is a time and there is a place for going fast; the street aint it  ;)

I live on a rural highway, 50 mph speed limit, on a straight away for about 2 miles. EVERY day some idiot on a crotch rocket goes by my house and I know he's going well over 100 mph. You hear em comin then he's gone. Yesterday I tried to tell what color the bike was, it went by sooo fast all I could see was a blur.

I waiting for the day when someone scrapes up his remains up off the roadway.

Another canidate for the Darwin Awards.....  What a waste....

Here is my story on a bike crash.

An 18 year old kid lost control of his motorcylcle in a school zone two blocks away from my house.  He was going about 90mph at 3:00 in the after noon.  He clipped a car and was tossed into a street sign.  He was decappitated.  The body and head were left for hours untouched until they could investigate the crash and by then all the kids in the neighboorhood had passed it on the way home from school.  My son said it best after witnessing the crash (he was quoting Spider-Man), "With great power comes great responsibility."
