;D ;D ;D ;D  WOO-HOO!  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Well, after a long hiatis, I may put on my ball cap and become a baseball fan again. I haven't seen a game since the World Series strike, but maybe it's time to move on...

Go Rockies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

8-)

GOOD LUCK RW : I told you they would get in 8-)

They are the hottest team going currently.     Only their second time in Franchise history to make post season play.

Good luck, I'm on the Underdog's band wagon.

Go Rockies.

Matt

They went 14-1 out of the last fifteen games to get there. They lit up the Padres two best pitchers the current Cy Young winner and the the best closer ,ever to get there. I guess the only thing harder than being a Mets fan today is being a Padres Fan: Now we are both in the Choir all right one, two , three: SiNG IT LOUD    WAIT TIL NEXT YEAR!!!!!!!

14-1?

Man, that's less likely than blowing a 7 1/2 game lead with 20 to go... ::)

It's worse than that RW it was only 17 to go among the worst chokes in the history of the Game!

Well, I know you are a huge fan...That really sucks.

It is what it is. Listen they lost 120 in 62', unless they award a MLB franchise to a Little League Club, no one will ever beat that, so if I can get through that I can stick with them no matter what! Stengel was there manager that year and before one game he stood up on front of the team and asked " DOES ANYONE OF YOU KNOW HOW TO PLAY THIS GAME?"

I can't fire the coach, the mets haven't been close in the past decade.    Hopefully, the melt down will give them the needed experience to play thru it next year.

I wished the Rangers had a lead, just one time, a melt down would be something to cheer about, cause have to be leading to have a melt down, and the only melt down we've had is from our Owner, Mr. Ricks.

I have nothing good to say about Mr Ricks, so I'll bow out, at least the other Texas team appears to make some good moves in the past.

Matt

Matt, that Texas franchise is a real mystery. It's not like they never have talent (even ARod used to play there), but they just never seem to be there at the end of the season. This has been true through a number of managers, so that can't be it. It's got to be an ownership thing.

And RW, given the success of wild-card teams over the past few years, rooting for the Rockies is not a bad way to go!

NB and Matt,

In regards to the Rangers, it IS a mystery.  Even back in the George W. ownership days, the Rangers would find a way to fall short.  It's always seemed that the Yankees and the Angels have had their number. When Tom Hicks bought the team, he thought that spending 240 million dollars (more than the whole club was worth at the time) for A-rod would fix these problems.  He should have thrown that 240 million into four or five good pitchers.  Since getting burned on A-rod, he just doesn't seem to want to let go of much money anymore.  Throughout his ownership, we've never had any pitching, but tons of offensive talent (still do).  I'm not crazy about his new "kid" GM either.

One other problem I've always had with this club is that it doesn't seem that the DFW area wants a good baseball team.  Everytime I've ever been to a game, the crowd (for the most part) is lame.  No one gets excited and stands behind their team like the Boston or Yankee fans.  Heck, unless prompted, there's no noise in our stadium.  People kind of look at you funny if you yell out.

I'll still put my money on the Red Sox to take it all this year.

I'm confused.

I have been away from professional baseball for nearly a decade,

but what do these losers have to do with the Colorado Rockies?

My bust RW,

Some chatter on firing the Mets coach for the late season collaspe.    My comment was, I wished Tex would have a lead at the end of the season just once.

AS history has shown us the past few seasons, Wild card teams have a great chance to win it all.

With the Rockies being one of the hottest teams going into post season play who knows.     I didn't look at who they played the last 15 games as of yet, so they may had the worst teams in the league to make that run on and it may very well end quick.

I'm too chicken to predict baseball with the recent events the past few seasons.   Wildcards have been hot, and home field advantage has shown the home team only winning 54% of the time.

I'd take the Rockies just because they haven't been to the big show ever.

Are the Rockies already 2-0 in this short series?

The Rockies have been under the radar all season but lurking in the shadows.  I'm rooting for a Rockies - Indians series.  It would be good to see some different teams playing for all the marbles.

I like your reasoning, make it happen!!!

I always love a good underdog.

I never looked at the Rockies all year.   It was the streak towards the end that I heard about that caught my attention.

I always say,   Don't really matter how you play in the first part of a long season as long as you don't put your self out of contention.

Peaking at the right time is always very good key.     They are peaking in October and I believe in Baseball, is the RIGHT TIME.

I'm no cubby fan, but have thought that if the Cubbies could win it all, Maybe Mr. Bartman could come out into public.

Saw a short piece ESPN just did.    No way I could live like this guy.    He basically lives indoors since the incident.   Work and goes home, Works and goes home, works and goes home.

Sad life to be fearful over something that 95% of the same fans would have attempted if they were in the same spot.

Those that have been to a ML game, ever want to catch a fly ball?   I know I took my glove to a few Padres games.

If the Cubbies could win it all, I guess I could live with that.  They definitely are due.  I'm a Cardinals fan so the Cubs are a nemesis to me most of the season, but sometimes you just have to root for a team who has missed the Series for so long.  The Rockies are my first choice, though.

I caught a Mo Vaughn home run ball at Camden Yards about 10 years back or so. No glove, bounced on a seat in front of me, came up to my seat I went to grab it, had it IN my hand, and some older guy literally kicks his shoe at me, hits me in the arm, I drop the ball and he grabs it. You better believe all the people in the stands started getting on the guy. Including my dad. We were ticked. Here's this litte leaguer ball in hand all happy and stuff and some guy just about side swipes you and steals it. Dude had to be in his 30's or 40's and told my dad to bug off. Got the security guard but he didn't do crap and I never got the ball. I don't care just going to Camden Yards and seeing the sea of red during Red Sox is unreal. It seems like you don't even have to go to Fenway to be at a "home" game. I love it. All the people I know that go to those games say it's worse now and hardly an Oriole jersey in site when the Sox are in town.
