Hey fellas, havn't been around much lately... however i managed to pick up great way to pass some time (for us northern folk who can't fish cept on the ice).   Went pheasant huntin for the first time bout 3 weeks ago and LOVED it.  Got to use a buddy of mines Over and under and i was knockin' em otta the sky quite nicely.  Went and picked one up for myself and we went again last weekend and went like 33 for 35 or somthin like that. (Put in take in Rothberry Michigan)  Just thought i'd let you guys know i'm pretty geeked about the whole deal!  : )    It was also the first time i hunted with dogs, which was also pretty amazing.

Anybody here do any Pheasant huntin?

You're very lucky.  I wish we had pheasants in Virginia.

Not "better", just "different". Pheasant hunting involves covering some ground and "huntin' 'em down". Ducks and geese is more about "finesse", callin' 'em in or fooling them with "friends". Sounds like Power Fishing verses Finesse, doesn't it? If it flies it dies; If it's brown it's down. I used to hunt pheasant in eastern Colorado and western Kansas; hunted ducks and geese in both the Central Flyway and Pacific Flyway. After moving to Tennessee I have had the opportunity to hunt Stuggart in Arkansas.

Good call.... I guess i find calling them in fun 8-)

Since my accident I haven't been able to hunt small game. I always loved hunting Pheasants and rabbits with my English Springer Spaniel.

I'm gunna have to try some duck, goose huntin.  Also plan on doing some grouse huntin as soon as i find time.
