The Michael Vick story got me thinking.  How many of yall lost your favorite athlete (pro) to something stupid they did?   My favorite was Mike Tyson, even though I think he is a street thug/punk.  That man had one heck of a fist that I liked to watch him K'O people with.

X2 I like to watch Iron MNike Knocking Fool out too

I know how you feel!! to be honest i really liked Vick love to watch him play!!!!

Go ahead yell at me all you would like :o :o

Vick did wonders here at VT and I really enjoyed watching him play. He made some plays that you look back at and say man, how did he do that?

Now with what has went down with the dogfighting charges, failed drug tests, the Ron Mexico situation, the shady things he tried to carry on a plane, etc.....you just look around and say how could he do that?

Everybody around here is disappointed in all that he's done since he turned pro.

Yeah, but I still liked him until he decided to turn into a murdering thug.

I also liked Mike Tyson until the ear incident.  From then on he changed for the worse.

Wow, what a question.

I got to see Michael Vick play against the Washington Redskins last year in DC and he was outstanding.  So I was very sorry to hear what he did and his attidude about it.  He was a class act at Virginia Tech and everyone had such a high opinion of him and his accomplishments.

Billy Cannon, Heisman Trophy winner from LSU and a very successful orthodontist, got into a lot of trouble for counterfieting US currency. Billy did not need the money other than for keeping up with his jet set friends.  He was banned from entering the College Football Hall of Fame.

Pete Rose, my favorite baseball player, really let me down. In fact, I don't follow baseball any more due to the attitudes of the players and what Pete did. Sad time for major league baseball.

Magic Johnson, an outstanding NBA player, quit due to having AIDS which was sad in itself.  How dumb can a guy with so much talent and wealth be when it comes to protecting yourself from diseases? My opinion is that the NBA players are thugs and not worth following.

There are many others out there in all sports. So now my favorites are the teams and not the players. I could care less about the individual players.  I like certain teams in each sport and watch their records and not the individual accomplishments of the players.

I think you could really say that about the NFL as well, baseball just a buch of cheats Barry Bonds!!

I really loved watching Mark McGwire in 1998. Didn't matter if my Cardinals were winning, I just wanted to see Big Mac hit. I was not only disappointed by his steroid abuse (no shock) but also by his refusal to accept responsibility for what he did. Sorry end to a great career.

...and Lance Armstrong also seemed like the All American hero. He beat cancer and the French (6 times). Then he dumps his wife for a rock star, then dumps the rock star for a child star (Ashley Olsen). That's just creepy.

lol may be creepy!! ok maybe really creepy!! but what is ashley olson thinkin!! hes to old!! Just as creepy as him!!!  i still think hes an amazing athlete!!!

what about Maurice Clarett? Talk about a screw up...He could have been amazing.

Was he a class act or just had better handlers?  How do you go from a good person in college to what he became once he turned pro?

Look at what a class act his brother is.

Just for testing positive for the juice, I can never look at Rodney Harrison again. Once a cheat always a cheat. And anyone remember Sammy Sosa's corked bat a few years back? MLB snuffed that out before it got too crazy.

A blast from the past.......

Lance Rentzel. My first disappointment.
