How to fish this lake

Featured Replies

In the middle the lake is 4-7 feet deep and is full of this weed.  I have caught a couple of chain pickeral on a spinnerbait and a couple of bass on a lipless crank. Can you give me some suggestions on what else  to throw in the middle of this lake

Try and find an edge or hole in the weeds something different then fish with plastics slow. Spinner baits and jigs are also good baits to use.

Rattle traps!!! Throw it out, and when it hits the tips of the weeds (hydrilla) just rip it out.

im in the upstate as well, where are you fishing?

Lake Cunningham

Catt, should I use little or lots of weight. I have tried a t-rigged dinger with a 1/4oz sinker and was having issues making it all the way to the bottom.

i gre up less than 10 minutes from there,    try a 6 or 9 inch paddletail worm in junebug color, on a 2/0 ewg hook in the holes and edges of the grass( fish it sloooow) , in the mornings you can burn a shallow crank over the top of the grass like a manns -1

good luck

Have a look at my post Grass-N-Bass and we'll get into discussing techniques for fishing grass.

A bait people used to throw all the time in that situation that seems to have fallen out of favor is a slug-go.  You could also use a zoom fluke.  Won't get snagged, and doesn't pick up too many weeds.

Agree with the edge locations first then open pocket edges usind tx rig worms and jigs.
