Sounds like most made it through without any major issues.  That's good news.

I haven't heard from Lane & Tony yet.  They're 2 hrs west of Houston.  Checked the weather at about 6:00 am this morning and they were getting 75mph sustained with gusts over 90mph.

Ike is expected to reach S. E. Michigan sometime late tomorrow. We're already getting alot of rain. They say that when this system merges with Ike, the rain will increase even more. Plus the winds will be about thirty MPH.

Hurricane in Michigan???????  Strange

Just talked to Lane.  They're fine.  No power outages nor rain.  Just got a bit windy last night.  Other than that, life is normal.

I had a tournament to fish today which I'm skipping.  I don't care so much about the rain but the forecast is calling for winds 15-20 sustained with gusts to 30.  Since it's a 10hp lake I'd be stuck on a TM.  Sorry,  under those conditions I'd have to be able to fire the big motor up.

Man. Glad I didn't go fishing!

We're experiencing what was once the former eyewall of Ike since about 7am.  It's a little over an hour now and the wind is gusting to 35mph, torrential rain.  Man!   :o

We had gusts up to 60mph earlier this morning. A tree got blown down over our driveway, so it looks like we're bumming a ride to church. There's a few power lines down also. A man in Fisher, AR died this morning when a tree blew over onto his mobile home.

I'll try to get some pics up later

Fishfordollars called today.  His initial assessment of the damage to his home was incorrect.  They've had a lot of rain and the water is now running down the walls in the house. plus leaking through the joints of the sheet-rock in the ceiling.  He says he doesn't have enough pots, pans and buckets to contain it all.

Well, We came out all right! We only had a few limbs down in our yard, and 1 small tree down, on the southeast corner. One guy's place I was watching for (He took off to North Carolina.) Lost 5 trees. 1 came with in 1 foot of hitting his house. It snapped halfway up. Another 5 feet and he'd have a tree in hos bedroom. We've been with out power since about midnight, when the storm hit. Our water came back 3 days ago. We hooked up our generator to our breaker box, so as long as we stay away from the 220s we'll be fine.

I've been working 10-15 hours everyday in diferent neighborhoods, hauling and chainsawing trees for people.

Thank's for all the prayers!!

-Ike
