Bama Rules while Georgia drools

Featured Replies

I'm not quite ready to declare the Tide national championship material yet but last night's game showed what they are capable of when all cylinders are firing. J.P. Wilson was spot on. Now if he can be consistent game after game. I have to give credit to the Dawgs for making the 2nd half interesting.

If the boys stay focused Kentucky & Tennessee should be a given with LSU our next major test but, who knows, in the SEC anything can happen. I'm looking for Bama to be #3 in tomorrow's AP poll.

Oh yeah and look out War Spread Eagle, the Tide is rolling your way.

Fear the One! Roll TIDE Roll!!!

I have great respect for story book programs.    Saban will leave Bama with a Statue in place.

Glad to see their program getting back to tradition.

Any other year, I'd say Bama has alot of cream puffs left with the exception of LSU.

But your cream puffs have played tough ball this year.

Congrats on that win last night.

As a Georgia Tech fan and alumnus, thank you for providing that great entertainment.  I enjoyed every minute (but mostly the first half).

:)

Outstanding game but you should be concerned with giving up 30 points in the second half after a 0 in the first.

Yeah that is disconcerting.  :-/ I don't know if Richt woke up the Dawgs at the half or Bama just became a little over confident. I think it will be awhile before Georgia wears black again!! ;D.

Hey don't give up yet. The way Georgia came back was scary. A lot of teams would have given up. The Dawgs kept trying.  A one loss team may be in the national championship with the way things are going.

..........the big 12 really 'rules' though. i think we all know that....... :P

;D

b

Yep. ;D

Top 5 consists of 3 BIGXII teams ( OU, TX, Mizzou)

...but "only" 2 SEC teams (Bama, LSU)

Top 25 consists of 6 BIGXII teams and 6 SEC teams.

The other conferences might as well give up this year.

Give me a break Big XII!!!  The Sooners have played no ranked teams and not one of the Big XII have played anyone within their own conference yet. Most of the games that all three (OU, TX & Mizzou)  have played have been at home. I'll be waiting to see a few games away against ranked teams (TX vs OU) before I'm impressed. ;)

Saban is going to leave Alabama at the end of this season and join Dr. Mark Emmert at the University of Washington.

Saban's wife and kids do not like Tuscaloosa and he and Dr. Emmert were great friends at LSU.

Saban has enough money and he now wants a lower level program that he can make into a national power without all of the associated problems with the Bama fans.

Believe it or not!  ;D

That is false.  OU played No. 24 TCU on Saturday.

Y'all keep on talking, we'll see who's holding the crystal in January. 8-)

Keep running that mouth, it makes victory that much sweeter. ;)

Big XII's schedule has been easay so far. It'll get real interesting once Ok. goes to Texas and then to Texas Tech. TCU may be a ranked team but they're not the "BCS Killers" that they have been in the past few years.

I think it's nearly impossible for a B12 or SEC team to get through the season undefeated.

We might be looking at two teams with two losses each in the title game.

I think Alabama finally beat someone to be ranked now.

Bama beat an preseason over ranked #9 Clemson who is now 2-2,

Western Kentucky, Tulane, and now the Dawgs.   Saban would have gotten there eventually, but who did he beat to put him in at #8 to begin with?

#4 Florida lost, the best loss of the day.

I just hope there is not a let down this week or next. LSU/BAMA will be great if neither stub their toe beforehand.

ROLL TIDE!!!

Alabama's win over Georgia at UGA is the most impressive win that any of the top 5 teams have had this year. Oklahoma beat a #24 TCU but also Chattanooga, Cincinnati, and Washington. #3 LSU would have the next best defeating #10 Auburn at UA. They also beat Appalachian State, North Texas, and Mississippi State. No. 4 Missouri has beaten a #20 Illinois but then their other three games are South East Missouri, Nevada, and Buffalo. Texas is ranked 5th with wins over Florida Atlantic, Texas El Paso, Rice, and Arkansas.

The two SEC teams ranked opponents have been much tougher and they have both been away games.

Don't get mad at the Big XII for not losing.   I mean to start the season, SEC had the prime spots sewn up.

its not USC fault that Georgia didn't open up against a better team to hold on to #1.

Come on, Tenn #18 is 1-3,   South Carolina didn't earn their ranking either.    After all, losing 6-7 of your last 7 games ranks you how?

Same was done last season as well, its based on Spurrier, and Spurrier alone, not cause they lost the last 5 games of the 2007 year.

Who's fault is it that Florida lost at home?   To lowered SEC foe?

BAMA beat a preseason ranked #9 Clemson who is now 2-2, so who did Bama beat to be a top 10 in the first place?

Western Kentucky, Tulane, Clemson?    Bama should just be cracking the polls truth be told.

Don't go knocking the Big XII for who they played thus far, you don't see Div IIa colleges on our schedules like national champs LSU and Florida    lol.

So, yep, Alabama's win was most impressive over top 5 team.    Georgia has yet to prove they are top 5 team.    And bama proved they earned their spot in the polls.   Finally!!!

Auburn has done nothing but move down as well.    They weren't top 10 to begin with, but thats showing on its own as  well.

If 1-3 Tenn hadn't fumbled in their endzone and gave them a freebie, they would have lost as well.

   I'm impressed thus far.

Matt who is Chattanooga? Southern Conference 1AA same as Appalachian State

Matt who is Sam Houston State? Southland Conference 1AA

Big 12 power house opponents

Chattanooga

Eastern Washington

Florida International

Missouri State

Sam Houston State

Southeast Missouri State

Southern Methodist

University Texas-El Paso

Which of these teams could beat Appalachian State?

All Big Colleges through the nation pad the schedules with weak opponents  ;)

Which of these teams could beat Appalachian State?

I agree with your point but would like to point out that App State is no longer the best team in Div 1AA. That would go to the Dukes of my own JMU  ;)

I didn't know the season was over and JMU won the championship?  ;)

Did you see the JMU/AppState game? Unbelievable 2nd half comeback ;D

In all seriousness though, you're right. I just meant that they are no longer the top team to beat because they lost and are not ranked #1 anymore...

I know I'm just busting your chops; my home town team the McNeese State Cowboys played North Carolina week 1 and even though they only lost 35-27 it's still a loss.

I believe these sports channels should let 1AA teams play on national TV instead of playing a 1A team after all it only about the money. I don't care who the teams are if they are evenly matched a true football fan will watch.

I also believe there is too much emphasis placed on a team to go undefeated when it proves nothing if you have padded your schedule which they all do.
