Any dart throwers out there?

Recommended Posts

I was visiting one of my friends over the weekend and one of the things we like to do is throw darts. We usually play cricket, although I don't know why. 9 times out of 10 we're battling for the bullseye to win the game. Anyway, I had a first happen, actually it happened twice! I've seen my Dad, a very accomplished archer, telescope his arrow on a couple of occasions. Well, I telescoped darts saturday evening/sunday morning! Pics are in my camera, once I get them downloaded. Has anyone else ever done this or seen someone do it?

No.

Because I don't play darts.

One of my clients is an avid dart player and he is excellent.

He has done this a few times.  He says that the dart that sticks in the shaft of the dart does not count as the tip does not hit the board.

It does count on the soft board when the electronic sensor feels the hit.

He calls it "Robin Hood" and it happens once in a while in tournaments.  ;)

I have always had a dart board up.    Love steel darts, don't care about electronic darts.

Used to be a ton of bars with Steel darts,   Insurance got so high, they are getting scarce in some parts of the state.

I'm not real good, but I love darts.  Have a board in my garage that I don't use as much as I used to.

Believe it or not I once won a game of cricket by telescoping my dart of my previous bullseye.  My friend and I both new it probably didn't count, but you can bet your arse I was taking it.  Luckily my friend was just as impressed and didn't have a problem giving it to me.

Been there done that and have even double "robin hooded" all three darts in a stack on top of the treble 19 playing steel tips ;D Cost me 15 dollars after shipping to replace the special shafts on my Bottelson GT darts. >:(

Played steel tip leagues for 8 years but never went on the county state team. Those guys just get wayyy too serious and it isn't much fun.

Used to get into a lot of local tournaments for soft tips.Makes an extra pay check on a Friday night a lot of times, unless of course I spent it all on beer. ::)

Now that would have been something to see!  :o

I'm not all that serious about it either. Mostly only play now when I visit with my friend.

Here's one of the pics.....

I play all the time, every wednesday night in my league in Frederick.

Robin hooding darts is great, just to bad the second dart doesn't actually count.....

Robin hooding sucks when you ruin a pair of expensive shafts

My dart skills peak around 6 beers, then taper off pretty quickly

An older friend of mine is a pro dart player - plays some mini tours and travels a bit. I've actually never played with him, but probably twice a year he gives my brother and me a bunch of darts, flights, etc. Always bring my own to the bar now, which makes me look good to an outsider until I actually start using them. It's definitly a lot easier playing darts with a good set. Can't stand crappy bar darts - it's frustrating.
