Hey Kb check this out. Last year, after Jan.1 Cabelas starting charging sales tax also here. IT WAS THE STATE! Check this out, in PA if you have a Cabelas or any other vendor that has a retail outlet in the state , we now have to pay tax ordering over the net!

I am thankful Cabelas is so close because I don't pay shipping anymore I co ordinate orders when I am going to the store and pick my Internet orders up at the store and shipping is free that way

It's been that way for years, that the company had to collect sales tax if they had a physical business presence in the state.

However, we are responsible for the tax if the seller doesn't collect it, but, not surprisingly, nobody reports it. New York and maybe other states as well have closed part of that loophole, but it's easy to envision new laws requiring large mail order and Internet sellers to collect taxes for all states, regardless of whether or not they have a presence in the state.

Curious.

I've always paid state tax when ordering from Bass Pro Shops because the HQ was in Springfield.  In fact, on every order form there was a box for figuring Mo. tax for MO. residents.  I haven't noticed them adding any other state even though they have stores in quite a few.  Does BPS do this same tax thing to anyone else if you order?

I would get charged sales tax by BPS when I used to order from them.

NY is going to have a fight on their hands.

Just looking at recent invoices.  Basspro, no sales tax/ Reeds Sporting Goods in MN charged tax, and G96 gun products in NJ, no tax charged.

You are a MO resident.

I 've ordered many, many, many times to BPS ( tackle junkie ya know ;) ) have my goods shipped to my Texas adress ( and there are several BPS stores in TX ) and no sales tax.
