Edwards out in KC

It's about two years too late.  I just hope the guy doesn't get another job in the NFL.  Possibly the worst head coach in the league over the last 3-4 years.

Your just being racist.

I loved his line at the end of the season when asked how he felt about keeping his job.  His response, spoken with a tremendous amount of confidence I might add, was "I think my work speaks for itself."  Well yes .... yes it did.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

I remember when he got here I was so excited.  Now I am elated that he is gone.  Has to be THE most over rated coach in the NFL.

When I heard this I was sitting watching espn right after school with my friend. It will be a day I never forget :)

(Mostly cuz he tackled me in happiness ;D)

Edwards was a terrible head coach. This nothing to do with race.

He left the Jets in disarray, and the next year Mangina posted a winning record. I predict whoever (Shanahan?) takes over, KC will have a good year on 2009.

Herm should coach college, NFL position coach, or retire.

I hope to god his mug doesnt end up on the NFL network.

I do, thats one more win for the Chiefs...

Well, Chefs fans can thank Peterson for the farce that was Herm Edwards.  Pioli didn't waste much time canning Edwards.

Edwards always seemed to be absolutely lost on the sideline.  He may make a decent position coach, but he isn't head coaching material.

Well Peterson has been a problem for quite a while now.  Yes he did a tremendous job when he first got here though.  Players have complained quite some time about his contract negotiating tactics.  Most recently Jared Allen (who was been very public about it ) and Tony Gonzalez.  That was a shame he couldn't trade Tony G before the trade deadline this year.  His years are running short and he deserves his shot.  Hate to see him go, but he deserved to be on a team that had a shot this year.

Then Carl's past 2 hires for head coach have been friends of his.  Both were problems IMO.  Yeah Dick Vermeil had a few descent seasons, but he built teams for the short term with no concern at all for the long run.  Look at both KC and St. Louis.  And then Herm was just unqualified IMO.

Carl was also in charge of the business operations.  He has raised ticket prices every year even though the team continued to suck more and more.  KC fans love the Chiefs and put up with it for a while, but this year I think people had finally had it.  My family had season tickets for 25 years.  We did not renew last year.

So while I am glad to see Herm gone, I and most KC fans are probably more glad Carl Peterson is out of here.

Here's a side story about what a sleeze ball Carl Peterson is:

One of my friends used to valet park cars down on The Plaza.  The Plaza is a ritzy part of town just outside of downtown.  It has the more up scale bars, fine dining, and the up scale shopping in the area.  So the night before the Chiefs hired Dick Vermeil my buddy was working at one of the restaurants down there.  Up pulled 3 Suburbans and out jumps Carl Peterson, Dick Vermeil, and their entourage.  Carl pulls my buddy aside and says take care of me and I will take care of you and gives him a wink.  My buddy immediately gets excited because thinks he has a big tip coming.  So my buddy sees when they finish their meal and busts his arse and get all three of his cars up front and warmed up in front so they would be there when they walked out.  So the entourage files out and Carl is the last one.  He quickly gets in one of the cars and tells my buddy "I paid the other guy" and gave him a wink.  Well the problem with that was there was no "other guy".  My buddy was the only one working there.

I was just bustin Burley's ball's.  I have never thought Herm was a head coach, he has never proven himself to be a winner and deserving of a head job.  With that said he will end up as a HC at another team and all you will hear till he goes somewhere and KC gets a new coach is the lack of black HC's in the league.  Don't take that the wrong way either.  I don't care what color they are as long as they can coach.  Antother one that keeps getting put in as an HC just because he is black is that sorry axx Ty Willingham, if you can't get recruits and win at Notre Dame then you just need to quit all together.  I got pretty worried when the Gruden to ND rumor came out last week.  I absolutely hate ND and the more they keep these sorry coaches the better I like it, if they had gotten Gruden he would be able to bring them back to their old winning ways and just made me sick.
