Fedor Emelianenko VS Andrei Arlovski

Featured Replies

This fight is tomorrow Jan. 24. Fedor is unbeaten in 28 fights and has 1 no decision. Arlovski has 14 wins and 5 losses. Personally I think Fedor is going to destroy Andrei. Even though I like Arlovski, Fedor is just a machine.

Dude's a beast, no doubt.

He looks like a freakin' Russian tank, hits like one too.

Fedor in the 1st.  Bet.   ;)

Fedor all the way.

I sure wish UFC could sign him away from Affliction so I could watch him pound Lesnar.

Fedor by viscious ground and pound and/or armbar.

I like Arlovski's chances alot better than Big Tim's. He's quicker on his feet and has much better head movement. I still think Fedor wins by pure explosiveness and his nasty ground game.

fivebass- I don't think UFC will ever sign Fedor, unfortunately. Last I knew, he would only sign a contract if he could still compete in Russian SAMBO tourney's, which didn't fly with the UFC. I also heard that his management offered to do a one fight contract, but that was shot down too. Probably because Dana doesn't want to see the guy he's trashed talked for years waltz in, destroy his HW champ, then walk away with the belt.

Anyway, thats what I heard. I'm with you though, he would completely overwhelm Lesnar.

Arlovski got knocked out COLD about 3 minutes into the first round. The Fedor train rolls on.

I cant say that I'm an MMA fan. One of my good buddies does it and always tries to get me into it. Not for me.

But I just watched the Fedor documentary, and I gotta say, WOW. I love the complete lack of flair. To verbalize one of his fights.

"Good luck buddy. I broke your face. Good match buddy"

Well Arlovski at least made himself look somewhat viable. What I had to rewind over a few times was the part from when the announcer says " it looks like Arlovski may have Fedor flustered". About 15 seconds later Arlovski was sleeping. What makes Fedor great is he just looks like a random guy who may be in a bar pounding back shots of vodka but, like Fourbizz says he is a very humble man who just happens to beat the crap out of everybody he faces. The UFC doesn't really need him to make a ton of money. They are deep in talented fighters. If and when the Affliction series fails and he does come to the UFC he will fight a couple "on their way out" fighters then have a shot at the belt and take it. I don't think Brock Lesnar will beat Frank Mir for the belt and just think Lesnar is a way to draw people over from "professional wrestling". I wil call another tap out at the Mir-Lesnar rematch right now.

Yeah, but just knowing that there is a better HW not fighting in the UFC just leaves a lot to be desired.

I agree with this. Mir is on a mission. I'm glad to see him make a comeback.

Off Topic: Faber vs. Pulver II is tonight

I would like to see a rematch. I think Fedor fights Barnett next. I think josh will give him a little trouble, but i think Fedor will come out on top.

At 145 Faber is the man! I have seen a few of his fights I was certain he was gonna lose and he pulled off victories. I would love to see Fedor come through and electrify the UFC as heavyweight fight there are usually dull. I just don't believe Dana and crew think he is worth all the B.S. to get him.

More off topic.

I have pulled for Rashad Evans since he was on the HW TUF. I am happy to see him be the 205 champ he has had the most dramatic improvement out of any fighter in the sport. IMO

Even More off topic.

I don't see the GSP-Penn rematch going 5 again either. Penn has said something along the lines of GSP is a p---y for tapping to Matt Hughes. I think that will just fuel the St. Pierre fire.

IMO all the belts besides the HW are at the right home for now. Geeze we could start discussion about the animal known as Anderson "The Spider" Silva if you want. He owns 185 division.

I hope Penn wins it. I've always liked BJ. He's cocky, he lets you know about it and can back it up. I can't stand to hear GSP talk...he sounds like a robot. He's at the top of his game right now and BJ is going to have to be sharp.

Thats funny! He does sound robotic but, I just don't think Penn has the speed or strength to pull it off. I know he has the skill but, at 170 GSP is gonna hold it down. I am a fan of both.

GSP rules and will beat penn in the first round 20 seconds

GSP rules and will beat penn in the first round 20 seconds

Nope. He might beat him but not like that. He BARELY won against an out of shape Penn the first time around. Penn is the best he has ever been right now and I am more than excited about this fight.

And I really didn't expect Fedor to drop Arlovski like that.  I predicted a Fedor win but not in that fashion.  Got to be the best heavyweight of all time.  He does need to come in and wreck the UFC...I see nobody there giving him any trouble right now but I would love to see:

Fedor vs. Mir

Fedor vs. Big Nog again

Fedor vs. Lesnar (cannot stand Lesnar)

and Fedor vs Gonzaga would also be a good one too.

It's too early to be drunk, so maybe you are just crazy?

There is no way, NO WAY, GSP is gonna beat Penn in 20 seconds.  If you truly believe that, well......I just dont know.    ;D

Does GSP have the talent and potential to beat BJ or vice versa?  Absolutely.

I am picking Penn just based on the fact that he is awesome and GSP is Canadian.   ;)

My fault man...No worries, eh?   ;)

Max, no prob

No problems!

lol worse French Canadian lol j/k

GSP Can absolutley beat BJ, But not in 20 seconds. Its not GSP game. Hes not as heavy handed as Penn, and Penn has an awesome Jaw. I think GSP will win. I dont think Penn is mentally prepaired for this fight.I saw where he was taking a vacation during training. This might work against Joe Stevenson but not GSP.  GSP in Round 3  ref stoppage.
