Here we go again

Featured Replies

We are sitting down at dinner last night and the doorbell rings. I open the door to find 2 young horndogs ( aka 9 yr old boys ) standing in my doorway asking for one of my 9 year old daughters!!!!

I did the inquisitive dad thing and found out that yesterday they had also tried and got 1310 instead of 1410  lol. Keep in mind it was very cold both days so they are persistent horndogs / balsy little fellas to say the least.

Keep in mind our former "youngest" is 21yrs old and 6ft tall so it has been a while! I'm getting too old for this.

Hey Burley I know you have extras can I borrow a big looking gun?

It doesn't need to be operable just VERY BIG looing.

9 years old? I am continually amazed with this type of behavior among the youngest of kids. With what they are continually barraged with in media though, what can we expect? I was blessed with a daughter (now almost 19) that had a group of friends that were just interested in being kids until they were in their early to mid teens. I have an 11 year old that is the same way. I am also blessed to be 6' tall, 240lb. weight lifter. My daughter has had a boy friend (a great kid by the way) for almost 2 years. She has asked me no matter what the temperature is, could I please put a shirt on when he is around. She said I am scary enough with it on, it is very intimidating with it off....MISSION ACCOMPLISHED ;)

Heck I worry about Burley when my daughter hits double digits. Im afraid he will make my life a living hell.  :-?

FFI,

Check your pm's.

I, too, have a daughter who is almost the same age (10). She recieved her first "check yes or no" note the other day, only to have the boy say, "Never mind" the next day. Oh, the drama that night! :'(

She's even had a boy call the house a time or two. I'm sure it only gets worse. :(

I'm not that much of a prevert.   :D

As the saying goes, "Daughters are God's punishment to men for our lives of being, well, men..."

Here's hoping I have boys... ;)

PS  I guess I expected you to read my mind but the but the 1410 vs the 1310 is the first part of our adress. We live on an extra long street so I'm betting that one of our neighbors got a knock on their door the day before.

This is not exactly an unbiased opinion!

Father of two daughters here (now 16/14) and from day 1 I told the wife/them they aren't dating until they're 16. No, no, no, no, no.....won't hear of it. They need to be focused on school and not what other kids are doing.

They've both had a couple guys skulking about and the younger one was asked out when she was just turned 13. She was also asked to be his girlfriend. My reply? 'For what? You're not going out with him for 3 years. No point in saying you're his girlfriend because nothing's going to happen.'

To date, no breaches in security. Keep em busy in church/athletics and DRIVE them to school and back. Since day 1.  :)

Abu El Banat.  =  a Bedouin expression for "father of daughters".  Apparently it provides hours of laughs for those who only have sons. I feel your pain.  Mine is 12.

I have two daughters, now both grown and married.  A very wise lady once told me to "have all the babies you want, love them and cherish them, but if they are girls, when they turn thirteen, kill them."  Believe me.  I was tempted.  I'm now very pleased that I didn't.

Mike I tried to several times but she could always outrun me.

I thank the lord everyday that I only had sons.

I'm the father of two girls ages 10 and 12. The oldest was the first girl child in 38 years from either side of the family, then 22 months later along comes her sister.

They are killin' me, they know it and I think they enjoy it. The boy stuff hasn't started yet, but it's coming. A guy I work with raised three girls, all he does is laugh at me.

I've seen hell on earth. We took them to a Jonas Brothers concert this past summer. Nothing like being in a crowd with 10,000 of them screaming at the tops of their lungs for two hours.......
