Hooked on Jimmy Stewart movies.

Featured Replies

I want to start out by saying Jimmy Stewart is WAY before my time, but everytime I see one of his movies on AMC---I'm hypnotized.  I don't know what it is about him.  I guess you could say he has "IT", whatever "it" is!!!  Plus he's in a bunch of Alfred Hitcock movies, which are all amazing to begin with.

Some of my favs:

Rear Window, Spiral Staircase, Dial M for Murder, Flight of the Pheonix, Vertigo.....the list goes on---He's awesome in everyone of them!!!

My favorite movie of all time  IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE  8-)

the scene where he is at the bar deciding to end it all is still, imo, one of the most powerful scenes ever filmed.

actors today would do well to study it.

That whole movie is such a powerful statement of good vs evil, and what is really important about life. I agree that scene is incredible!

Bass Dude,

Make plans to visit the Jimmy Steward museum in Indiana, Penna.

You will enjoy it.

My in-laws, from Indiana County, used to deal with his father at the pharmacy and they remembered Jimmy as a young man.

My in-laws are gone now, but they loved the Jimmy Steward movies.

My favorite is the Alfred Hitchcock production of the Man Who Knew Too Much.  :)

"I would not die a death I just described" anyone?

The Shootist with John Wayne.

Yup, was only a supporting role, but I love the dialog between the two of them.

I think he was very good in the Hitchcock movies and "It's a Wonderful Life" was his best.

I didn't care too much for him in westerns.  He wasn't a very good tough guy.  He tried acting tough but that made him look silly.

I Love Jimmy Stewart!  "It's a Wonderful Life" is a classic I watch every Christmas.  "Mr Smith Goes to Washington" is another Frank Capra movie featuring Stewart.

Has anyone seen, "Harvey?"

Do you mean literally, or just the movie? ;)
