Handguns + underwear

Anybody use thunderwear or smartcarry?

What do you think? Pros Cons?

Looking for a good CC holster for a .38 airweight. Not interested in IWB, ankle, etc.

I pack a gun in my undies... ;)

It's so dangerous, NY makes me carry a permit.

I use a Bianci shoulder holster for my S&W 629 4" .44mag.   ;)   Happy fishing.

Nah word has it that it's not crowded down there so a .44 would fit with room to spare! :D ;D :D ;D :o

On a more serious note.  ...lol

Depends on your dress code. But if you aren't open to IWB or ankle, the pocket or shoulder holster is about the only other reasonable choice.

I wouldn't consider thunderwear a good option for a snubbie because the cylinder is wider than the rest of the gun and likely to hang up on the belt or waistband as you draw. The other con is obtaining a full firing grip on the draw... tough to do with your hand down your pants, I would think. And if you ever have to draw, it's unlikely you'll have time to re-grip. Furthermore, I've read and heard that it's VERY uncomfortable to sit down with thunderwear.

I actually do carry a snubbie inbtween belt and waistband. (at 8 o'clock position- lefty) It's an IWB holster that fits perfectly between the belt loops. (I also wear it IWB with certain pants) covers easily with only a t-shirt. My daily dress is jeans and a company golf shirt untucked so I am very happy with it. When I have to tuck in, I wear a dockers type pant with a pocket holster.

Nice.......

I knew that some good stuff would result from this one.

I usually have a glock 27 in a lefty IWB for a right handed, behind the back draw (which, when typed, sounds very complicated). Speaking honestly, it just does'nt conceal really well in the summer months.

I talked with some UC's who use the thunderwear-type holsters and they like them. I guess that's better than nothing given their circumstances though.

So, it sounds like these are not well recommended by the average joe.

Thanks for the input.

Maybe I'm missing something, but why do you need to be strapped when you're in your underwear?

Sometimes deep concealment is the only option.

Ok, that makes a lot more sense.  If you've ever seen The Wire, I was thinking about that scene where Omar is going to the grocery store in the hood to get cereal in his PJs and can't find a way to carry his .44.

Speaking of The Wire, Muddy have you heard the Tom Waits version of "Way Down in the Hole"?  They used a different version of that song for each season, and the last season had a version by Tom Waits.  You should check it out if you haven't heard it, I think it would be right up your alley.

Not so "smart carry"

The highlights:

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A Belcher teen is recovering after police say he shot himself in the scrotum....

was rushed to the hospital after the bullet also went through his groin and then out the car door.....

Once he's released from the hospital, the man will face charges of illegal discharge of a weapon.

Good holsters and good training go a long way.
