NEW LEAD LAW

Featured Replies

This new lead law may effect my job. Here is a news reel from my place of work (and no, none of the people you see are me). And it effects everyone who has kids under 13 who ride motorcycles. This is not advertisement for my company, this is real news about a real problem developing in the motocross community right now. And this is the everything else thread site.

That is one of those laws passed by the ignorant and supported by the stupid.

Very well put!!  I couldn't agree more.

Thanks, our President of the company was just on Rush's show today.  Did a good job too.

I heard him. He sounded a little nervous but, did a great job explaining why the law got passed.Your boss said he is gonna shut down if they dont change the bill\law?

Well, if we can't sell bikes, why waste money in it.  I feel we can make them for overseas....everyone else ships them to us...why not the other way around, eh?

He did sound nervous, but he also just got back from the Indy show.

Wow.  Gotta love what power we allow the uninformed to have over our lives....

Perhaps the most uninformed are the voters whom elect these clowns. The masses keep voting for the same two parties that got us into this mess. The blame lies there.  >:( >:(:o

Not really. Its when we elect "our people" and then abandon the process once we leave the booth. Voting isn't enough. It doesn't work that way. If you want your elected officials to act on your behalf, you must present them with your cause. They can't do their job with a simple yes/no toggle.  Period.

Sounds like lobbying them. THAT is why we have the best government money can buy. The two parties just trade places every few years & keep accepting the money. (that is not MY cause)

Sounds like cobra should start bootleggin like WE all need to do The GOV is biting the hand that feeds

this is what happens when 400+ tell us what to do instead of vice-versa.

The company I work for makes the valves elbows and shut offs under your sink and behind the toilet. California passed a law that all new valves, elbows and shut offs that water passes through must be made of lead free brass. The brass we presently use has .1% lead but it is costing thousands to retool for the hard brass.

With the state going broke supporting illegals you would think they would have something more important to concentrate on. >:( >:(

Don't you guys feel something is not right, i mean i like the new president beening first African American president but now he is being too quiet on news,ect.. Not good sign for country, most of leaders news,political,ect... only predict things are going to get bad. When do you guys predict this time will be?, with many banks with no reports,ect.. many more jobs going down drain. These are sure critical times with zero truth is happening.

Get ready---Coming to a town near you. HOPE & CHANGE ::) ::)

Hey rfunfarm!, its right to believe in someone for wanting good things for other people. Just this problem in economy might be too much for anyone on this planet to change. That is real issue, not race, other non sense. Live in this time period of once.

Actually, its called writing letters to your representatives in office, and letting them know what you want.   ::)

No offense, but this thread seems to be splintering into about 3 seperate arguments.  Our government is set up to allow everyone to do what they feel they can to influence their elected officials, whether they voted for them or not.  Do what you feel is best for your family and your country...its as simple/complicated as that!  As for the story, had a similar story here in Ohio a few nights ago.  What a crock.  That law needs amended like yesterday!

I heard your boss on Rush as well.  The solution is really quite simple.  parents, tell your children to stop putting motorcycle parts in their mouths.  Seriously, this is all a tragedy. And we wonder why we don't manufacture anything here any more. I read recently (maybe here) Fender guitars have to ship their guitars to Mexico to have them painted because they can't get past EPA laws in this country to allow them to do it here. The .1% lead law is just another instance where removing 99% of contaminants, like air pollution, and making air quality more than acceptable, costs millions, but removing the last 1% costs billions, bankrupts the company and doesn't add 30 seconds to your life.

My father told me the story about the time my great grandfather, shortly after coming to this country, took his wife to a hill overlooking a steel mill and said to her, " See that smoke coming out of those stacks? As long as that smoke is there, I'll have a job."
