I think I'm beginning to hate you.  It will all depend on how much you rub it in between now and when you leave.  Come to think of it, you will probably be insufferable for at least two weeks after you return.  I'll try to be polite and pretend to listen.

Life must be nice.

My wife called me today too.

She bent over in the shower to pick up the soap and pinched nerve in her back.  Had to go home and take her to the doctor because she could barely walk.

After that, there was something wrong with the dog.  Turns out she was passing bladder stones.  she's got a bunch of them.

$400 later and I'm back home.  Wish I was going to Hawaii.   :-[

You'll love it man, went on my honeymoon to Maui and Kauai.  Great food, great people, great everything. Now if they could only make everything less expensive.

Thanks, the last and only time I was there was to have surgery from an injury I suffered in NAM. They flew me in and I never touched the ground. It was off a plane to the hospital for treatment and then back on a plane state side to California. Hopefully this trip is better.

You will enjoy yourself, I did. I was there for a week once for the college basketball tournament thing they have every year around New Years.  I will never forget my snorkeling trip.  It was me and the Michigan basketball team on the bus.  I'm 6ft tall, but felt like 4ft that day.  The organizer of the trip told me the story of how she had to search the entire island looking for huge flippers at all the snorkeling and scuba trip businesses just to find equipment for these guys.  If you do go snorkeling in that old volcano, watch out and don't go beyond the coral barrier, it will tear your skin apart (ask me how I know).

Enjoy the trip, and don't be afraid to do the tourist type things. It helps the local economy, regardless of what the SNL Hawaii skit portrays.

Your a lucky man, I was able to go fishing once there and caught 3 Wahoo, It was alot of fun and made many stops there complements of the US Navy. I don't recall ever seeing a ugly day in Hawaii and I hope you wont see one either..safe travels.

Speaking of injuries, surgeries and Hawaii, it reminds me of when my grandparents went on vacation there 5-6 years ago. They saved their pennies for a LONG time to fund the trip and it was the only place left on their list that they wanted to go.

We took them to the airport and they were really, really excited to finally be making the trip. Well, they arrived in Hawaii, checked into their hotel, then left to go out and see the sights. Leaving the hotel, my grandad stepped awkwardly off the curb and shattered his ankle. With grandad being diabetic, his doctor looked at the X Rays and said he had to immediately return home to have reconstructive surgery on the ankle. They had been in Hawaii a grand total of 90 minutes when he broke it.

I felt so sorry for them and grandad was in a cast for 3 months after his surgery. They still plan to go back one day.

I hope your trip goes a lot better than theirs did. Be safe.
