He needs more fiber.  Look at how his eyes bulge when he poops. ;D

Doesn't that fish know he isn't supposed to crap where he eats?

But honestly Dave, I'm worried about you bro.  How about I send you a couple of my girlfriends?

Very interesting . How long have you be fascinated with poop ?

I think it stems from deep seeded psychological torment. Intense therapy, three times a week is a must. Now, please, sit down on my couch here and tell me what you see when you look at these ink blots...

a bass... hmmm I see, very interesting... and this one... a bass again... I sense a pattern developing... how is your relationship with your mother?...

;D

My 10 year old son laughed at that picture for 30 mins.

wow.

You take some great aquarium pics Dave.  Can you briefly tell me your method?  I've tried a bit, but these are the best I've come up with.  And apologies for the thread hijacking.

That's quite a hi-jack - from fish turds to turdles.

Like I say, don't drink the water, its where the fish go to the bathroom and mate.

now I know I'm in the wrong thread.....

well this thread wasn't really going anywhere from the start so its not really hijacking.

but some tips to take a good pictures:

clean your glass, try windex, i see you have a lot of streaks.

don't use flash. unless you have professional flash set up (external flash units) camera flash usually does more harm than good.

use macro. macro is for shots within 2 feet, which is pretty much all aquarium shots.

make sure your camera focuses on the subject.

the first picture looks good except for the flash, and the second picture looks alright except it looks to me like the camera focused on the specs on the glass instead of the turtle. if you have one of those settings where it automatically focuses on faces or the closest object, try disabling that and setting it to just focus on the center of the photo, and then center your subject in the shot.

Dave, DO NOT USE WINDEX ON YOUR AQUARIUMS!!!  It contains ammonia, and as it evaporates, ammonia gas, which is highly soluble.  Use plain water, and a squeegee, or diluted vinegar and water and a newspaper.

If you can use a remote flash, you can do some interesting work by lighting overhead:

i've never had any problems with windex.

i just put a small amount on a paper towel and wipe the outside of the glass off. nothing gets in the tank at all.

like he said DON'T USE WINDEX. I'm not exactly an aquarium expert but believe me I've seen plenty of fish go belly up because they're owners use windex to clean the tank. I made the same mistake when I first got my aquarium, the fish were dead in a weak due to ammonia poisoning. I used to talk to a guy who owned a pet shop and he said the number one reason (other than over feeding) he has seen for people's fish dying is that they cleaned the tanks with windex. Although it seems like you're only cleaning the outside, the toxins from the windex can still get in the water and kill the fish. Use water or diluted vinegar like J Francho said, even if it hasn't effected your fish yet, it can build up over time and develop in high enough levels to kill them. Trust me, you don't want to find out the hard way!

X2, but in our case we have turtles.  Very hardy relative to most aquarium fish.

Anyway, thanx for the tips, I did have the flash off for the second pic of the stinkpot turtle (what a flattering name).  I've used macro for other purposes, so I'll try that.  And yes, cleaning the glass would also be a plus.

Hey Dave

are you going to make a lure of a fish with a turd :-? :-?LOL

and ummm......well.......uh,LOL..........GO MAKE LURES, thats tons more fun than watching what comes out of the south end of a north bound fish
