Do all Zoom baits float?

Featured Replies

Every Zoom I have so far floats, is it their plastic formula? Wait I think trick worms might sink...  I want to know if Flukes float? They are packed away in my boat I don't want to get them out just for playing in the sink- LOL

All of my mine sink but if your using them weightless it just takes a while.

I was playing in my sink with the finess worms and they floated.  I even drop shotted in my sink with a a short leader and that thing was trying to float to the surface.  I did the same with a trick worm and it sank really slow tho.  I would assume the flukes sink

Did you have a hook on the finesse when you tried it in the sink? Rigged they sink nicely, as do the lizards and a lot of others...

Heck, none of my Zoom soft plastics float.  Not even the Trick Worm, which I bought because I thought it floated.

In fact, very few soft plastics seem to float.

I know that Lucky Strike makes a floating worm kit.  I bought it.  And they do float.  What other popular soft plastics float?

The Zoom worms will float just by themselves until they are forced below the surface. Once they are wet, they will sink. The action that makes them float is called surface tension which is the same thing that keeps water spiders from sinking.

Lots of people call the Zoom Trick worm a floating worm, but that is because "back in the day" the first ones of that size did float. The brand name was Danny Joe Humphrey's Floating Worms.

I do not know about floating worms, except the old riverside floating air fries.(which I can not stand). But zoom almost always sinks. trick worms have a pretty cool side to side action when rigged weedless and weightless.

Saw the packages at BPS but can't recall the name (have slept since then :-[). Strike King has a floating worm...

Dang man you got it bad..drop shotting in the sink! ;D

well i just bought a pack of strike king zeros. they sink, but after a while, they started to float. it was weird. they seem all bubbly and stuff after fishing with them a while. they are a good bait tho

Gene Larew makes floating plastics.  I bought a pack of craws used for trailers and the claws float up while the jig lies on bottom.  I like it, but NetBait also makes some stuff that floats, not to much to say about them tho, I have never caught a fish on NetBait.
