Thanks for backin up the I.P.A. I'm also a huge fan of that airy leafy taste you get from one thats brewed with the right hops.  If you haven't had it try Lagunitas Hop Stoopid.  Its got those real flowery hop flavor that only a cali craft brewery could perfect.

Winter: Busch Light

Spring: Busch Light

Summer: Busch Light

Fall: Busch Light

Ok, I'm going to see if I can find it and give it an honest try but if I don't like it, I'm sticking with my original opinion about IPAs...just to make sure that it hasn't been formed by bad experiences or weak examples.

I'm drinking Sam Adams Summer Ale all summer long.

If im just enjoying a relaxing night with some friends its newcastle brown ale.

If im fishing or pounding its BL Lime usually.

Pounding?

Pounding?

I haven't heard anyone say "pounding"

I was agreeing with your post BD, I meant it as I haven't ever heard any of my friends or anyone else say it  ;)

I'll second a good hoppy IPA in Winter, but a good wheat is perfect for summer.  For those not into "craft" beers, spend some time in Germany and you will have a whole new outlook on what a quality beer tastes like!

Nevermind. They don't have any retailers listed in VA or MD. Got any other brands I should try instead?

Some good IPA choices would be:

Dogfish Head - Their brewery is in DE so i'm sure you can find it in VA.  It's also one of the most popular IPAs in the US.  I would try the 60 minute IPA and if you like that, then try the 90 minute.

Long Trail - A very floral IPA with a strong following in the northeast so i'm sure its distributed further down the coast

Stone IPA and Stone Ruination IPA - Cali's most popular brewery which is distributed pretty much throughout the country.

I know I can find Dogfish Head. They have a restaurant/brewery down the street from me. I'll see if I can find the others.

I've heard nothing but really good things about Dogfish Head.

If dogfish has a brewpub down the street from you, how come your not there right now?  I'd kill to have a DFH brewpub in my neighborhood.  You're one lucky man.

I've heard it's pretty expensive. My buddy went there and ordered a sandwich and one beer and it cost him like $20 and that was at lunch time. Also, as I've said before, I'm not a huge fan of IPAs so I haven't really tried any Dogfish beer. Maybe I'll try it out sometime. I hope it's food can beat the BBQ Chicken Pizza from the Pizzeria Uno's that used to be in that building...

I'm not familiar at all with east coast breweries Dan.  Tyranena is a WI brewery, though I figured they send some brews in your general direction.

the only sellers they have listed on their website are in Minnesota or Wisconsin.  :-/

Theres a place back home called Bricks Oven or Bricks Pizza or something like that that sells Dogfish Head. I don't know if there are any up your way or not.

I'm a member on a beer forum.  Tomorrow I'll do a search on IPA's in your general vicinity.  Though I wont be able to recommend them from personal experience, the grading scale and write-ups on this site are top-notch.  Enough so where I'd feel comfortable recommending a few for you.

Where exactly do you live?
