Micheal Crabtree rookie diva

Featured Replies

Already? He is already threatening to sit out his rookie season if he does not get more money. It is reasons like this that I would rather watch college football.I read the story on yahoo. I know some people might side with him, but I don't. What do ya'll think?

ESPN reports that it is his cousin making the threats about holding out,his agent has denied that this is true. That being said,if true SCREW him a #10 pick is gonna get payed enough to be set for life if managed right.IMHO >:(

I thought his agent was his cousin?

Im pretty sure he is, he's saying he should be paid more than what Heyward is because Al Davis made the mistake and didn't pick him.

This is based on mock drafts before the actual draft, and Crabtree wants to be paid according to what didn't happen.

Fact is no rookie should be paid that kind of money, they need to prove they are worth a sh** before getting paid.

If you ever watch baseball, contract years seem to bring out the best in people.

The way I heard was his cousin David Wells is an "advisor".  He is respresented by Eugene Parker for his agent.  I have a feeling Wells wouldn't have a clue how to actually be an agent for somebody and truly negotiate a contract.

What needs to be done is set a rookie salary cap and it doesn't matter where you were drafted you will get x amount till you prove you are worth more.  League minimum ($285,000) is far and away more than fair for someone that hasn't proven themselves at that level.

I'm reminded of Alex Smith.  :-/

To me, the whole rookie salary thing is one of the biggest problems in the NFL. I think the union, as well as the league, would like to change the system, but the union wants to use it as a bargaining chip. Stay tuned.

Crabtree might not do jack when he's double covered by NFL corners/safeties. He didnt see much double team at TT because of the spread offense. Those days are over and he might get schooled. Plus, SF doesnt have a good QB.....

I was hoping the Raiders would take Crabtree and I was a little mad when they took Heyward-Bay but I've since changed my mind.

If you want to see someone ruin their career just watch Crabtree sit out his rookie season.  I bet he won't sit out and if he doesn't sign soon and get into camp his playing time his first year will be very little and that will be his loss as well as the teams.  The only thing he is doing is hurting himself and his team.  I say let his actions on the field do the talking and the money will come.

Later, :)

I think that every team in the NFL should black ball him.  Then, he'll have to show his skills in the arena league.

It's people like this who ruin sports.

Arena league shut it doors last week.  Canadian football may be a better fit.

As stated above, he played the spread in college. All players, especially quarterbacks and specialty players (recievers, backs, etc.) that play the spread in college, seem to come to the NFL and not quite know what's going on.

Now, I am looking at this from more of a quarterback perspective, so Crabtree might be okay.

Take Vince Young for example. He came to the Titans after being a star at Texas, where he was more of a running quarterback. He still has not been able to adjust to NFL style of passing, and I don't think that he ever will.

Nope, I don't think I got anywhere just then.

The kid is a brat.

Spoiled. People like that get me fired up. They don't think about how many people would love to be in their shoes. I would have loved to have had a chance to play in the NFL.
