Well, Im trying it out

Featured Replies

I cancelled all the movie channels (starz/HBO/ etc.) on my cable/satelite and pay 8.99 a month for NetFlix

So far I've been happy with it, If I stay on it I could watch around 8 or 10 movies a month?

I like that it profiles you on your style of movies, anyone else do the netflix?

Hope you enjoy throttling.  Netflix/Blockbuster don't like it when you mail the DVD's back too quickly.

swmbo has an account...good for a movie, maybe two, in a week...anything more and you start getting waiting lists.

beats rachael ray, tho.

what do they do? Just send them slower?

I get three discs at a time and I send them back the day after I get them. I haven't had any problems (so far)

Same here, so far so good.

I've been on this package for a year now. It works great for us.

I really like Netflix for catching up on seasons of TV shows. I just finished cruising through the first five seasons of "24" It is way cheaper to do that with Netflix than renting each DVD one at a time from the movie store. This summer I've watched several seasons of several tv shows to get myself caught up.

One thing that does suck about Netflix is that you normally have to wait a couple of days to get a new movie. If I really want to see a movie the day it comes out, I'll go to Redbox and rent it for $1.

Been with it for 3 years now.  Love it.  I always suspend mine around May/June and start it back up in December.  The the PS3 option is awesome!!!

Oh yeah! The 'Watch Instantly' thing is nice, but not great. I can watch movies or tv shows instantly on my computer or through my XBOX360 BUT it is a fairly limited selection and new movies almost never appear in the Watch Instantly section.

Where are you Fourbizz? I know you use the Watch Instantly feature on xbox a LOT.

They penalize heavy users.  There was a court case concerning this.

Blockbuster does it to me.  If I watch & return ASAP, I usually have to wait a couple of days extra.  If I sit on a disc for a week, the turnaround is much quicker.

My wife signed up for it a couple days ago, me I was happy with the redbox.

I am fine with redbox, the one thing that I like about netflix is the availability of tv shows and and older movies and one that may be a little more obscure.

We are on the 2 disc plan.

We have had the same discs since September.

Using my Xbox, I can watch movies instantly through Netflix on my TV. I do indeed utilize this service frequently, lol. Matter of fact, I have watched probably 5 dvds in the last few months.

It seems like every other time I sign onto xbox live it says you are on there watching a movie or looking through movies.

I'm thinking about buying it through my xbox. Get caught up on tv series, and if I get bored, I can just browse my xbox for a movie to watch instead of waiting for it in the mail or driving to Blockbuster. My bestfriend and his girlfriend watch way too much movie and he was telling me this is best value for renting movies. On other hand, my bestfriend and his girlfriend will be living with me next year, so I figure I just hack into their account and add movies to the list I want to watch on their dime. ;D

P.S. For those of you that are into stock market, Netflix took Blockbuster to the cleaner. ;) And their  debt.

Netflix has been great for the year I've had it. I return one and 2nd day later I have a new one ...always. Beats the snot out of the prem movie channels which suck.

doesn't netflix have a free trial kinda thing? i might try this out. are there any obligations with the free trial?

I had netflix for a while, and loved it.  But eventually the point came where there was nothing else I wanted to watch, and I would have a movie for months, which is a waste.  I cancelled when I paid like 50 dollars to not even watch some crappy movie I didn't want to see in the first place lol.

Up until that point though, I loved it, and never had a problem.

how many movies can you get on your free trial?
