Need a new alarm clock....

Featured Replies

and I need help finding it!

I'm a heavy sleeper, and my current alarm clock system just isn't working.  For the record, I have 4-5 alarms set and spaced throughout my room, to all go off within a 2 minute period.  And I currently get up, walk around to shut them off or snooze the ones close to me, and go back to bed.

I would prefer something that wasn't deafening loud that will wake up the rest of my house (college campus).  I've heard of clocks that make you do simple math problems before you are able to snooze/shut off.

Anyone have experience with a good alarm clock that they would recommend?

lol. some of those alarm clocks are pretty smart.

I don't think a special alarm clock is going to help you at all because you already said you get up to shut them off. So instead of laying back down when you shut them off just stay up.

I think the he means the problem is that he is shutting them off without being fully conscious, at least that's the problem I have sometimes. I'll turn the alarm clock off without even really being awake. The alarm clocks that Dave posted are designed to stay on unless you solve a puzzle or do something that requires brain function...so they won't shut off unless you truly are awake.

Yep, I'm more or less sleep walking when I turn them off.  I'll check out the list, thanks!

The best alarm clock is called the "screaming meanie." My uncle who is a truck driver turned me on to this. I'm a wicked heavy sleeper and I miss class a lot from oversleeping. This alarm clock stops that....trust me.

There is a clock on the market that after the second time the snooze button is hit, it rolls off the table and runs around on the floor making a huge racket. You have to get up and chase it to turn it off!

try going to bed in time to get plenty of sleep before you need to get up.

I'll tell you what helped me stop all that and it only took one time.

Wake up to your Sergent banging on the door because you are an hour late for work. Then stand in front of your First Sergeant as he takes $1500 bucks from your paycheck. That will cure you quick.

I haven't missed an alarm clock since and it's been 12 years.
