Something really cool?  Or another recall?

Recall. The chances of something cool coming from Ruger are pretty slim.

whats happened with Ruger the last few years? every Ruger firearm i have has been great.

the LCP or LCR looks like my first pistol purchase.

Probably a ridiculously awesome single action.

Hardly. A compact SR9 (9mm), and a GP100 and a Blackhawk in .327 Federal Magnum. WTH? No one is buying the .327 now. Why more guns in that caliber? Since that round has been introduced, I've never seen it for sale, anywhere.

im so far out of the "new stuff" loop i dont even know what the .327 is.

It's treating me just fine.  But that's old news.  Here's my newest baby.  Colt Commander .45 ACP.

I'm not sure if this gun will remain 100% stock, or be the basis for a custom pistol.

I have a P95 9mm which I absolutley love and a Super Redhawk Alaskan .454casull which is a really cool gun, although I did have problems with it with less than 100 rounds fired. I sent it to Ruger they had it back to me in a few weeks (no charge) and never had a problem after.  Ruger claims it was the ammo I was firing so I changed from a 360 grain round to a 250 grain round

I was only kidding about Ruger.

The first handgun I ever bought for myself was a Ruger MkII.   I remember I disassembled it and couldn't get the thing back together.  Took it back to the dealer who couldn't reassemble it either.  So he gave me a new one which was not only utterly reliable but easy to assemble/disassemble.

Since then I've owned numerous Rugers and every one of them have been outstanding.  Right now, I only own two - a GP100 4" .357 and a SP101 2" .357.  I carry the SP101 more than any of my nother guns.

I don't handload. But I should. I've shot more .45 rounds than all other handgun rounds combined. Since my first handgun, I've owned the following .45s.

Springfield Armory 1911A1. The first one SA marketed (with the green/grey parkerizing, lanyard loop, plastic grips, all of which came in a cardboard and styrofoam package).

Springfield Armory Mil-Spec, blued.

Ruger P90

Colt 1991A1 5"

Colt 1991A1 Officer's

Colt 80's series Government

Colt 80's series Commander (with the little puny sights)

Colt 80's series Stainless Enhanced (.38 Super, actually)

EAA Witness (aka Tanfoglio)

Glock 36

Glock 30SF

Glock 21SF

Glock 21 (over 20,000K rounds through this one, and rarely cleaned)

Para Ordnance P12-45

All of these lovelies came into and out of my life. Usually shot them, and traded them of something else. Right now the only .45s I own are the Sig P220 and Colt Commander pictured above.   I think I've gotten to the point that I'll stick with what I like - 1911s - and never trade or sell any again.
