Good game? yeah right, I'm expecting Iowa go back to Iowa with their tails between their legs.

why? they've been playing good defense all year long.

Their offense is garbage. Half of the games they won, the other team played like they didn't wanna win the game. Example, Indiana... ::)

Facing an offense like Georgia Tech's requires a great deal of discipline from the defense.

If you don't face that type of offense very often, even a month of scheming won't help you.

If it were that easy then everyone would play that offense, nobobdy would lose and we'd have all tie games or close ones anyway.

14-0 Iowa at the moment?

I think Iowa lost its quarterback for the year in mid-season or before?

I thought I remembered them immediately going downhill after that so I'm surprised they are doing this well ( for the moment anyway ).

Stanzi was injured for their last two games. They lost both games. One of those games was Ohio State, and even then they took it to overtime.

Now Stanzi is back. With him their offense is "good enough." This game has started exactly how I thought it would, with Iowa's defense shutting out GT's offense completely.

And again you are wrong.  I live in Iowa, not an Iowa fan but anyone thinking Iowa was coming away with their tail between their legs, well must be you.

Ouch!  ;D  I'm surprised that GT cant get anything going. Iowa is playing good D but GT just doesnt look very well prepared offensively. Maybe they'll get turned around after the half.

Go ACC!!

right now, Tech's just not attacking on the cut blocks like they need to. Watch for an adjustment to the a-back sweep play and midline option to keep the DE off-balanced.

ACC is that horrible? Good lord! At this point I rather watch peewee football play offense.

No. Not at all. Iowa has a great defense and seems better prepared.

  • Super User

seriously. You obviously haven't seen Iowa play this year. Their defense is VERY good.

Oh I thought you might say "I was wrong, Iowa is a pretty good team.  They must feed them boys something out there in Iowa to not be as bad as I said"  ::)

He hasn't been back to the store to get more crow...

In all fairness Iowa won 2 or 3 games by some miracle. Those are the things that good teams do though.

Congrats to Iowa nicely done

How Bout them Hawks! Born and raised in IA and Hawk fan for LIFE! I love it when they are underdogs. They usually get over looked, like last night!

Go Hawks!

A one dimensional team will not survive ;)

Yellow Jackets

First Downs: passing 1

NET YARDS PASSING: 12

Completions-Attempts: 2-9-1

Yellow Jackets first passing completion came with just over 2 minutes left in the 3rd quarter

Not during the regular season, but probably in a bowl game.  I have said since GT hired Paul Johnson they will win a few ACC titles because of the quality of coach he is. He does more with less than anyone.  I liked watching his GA Southern teams play when they had Adrian Peterson of the Bears in the 90s.  Their problem will be bowl games when teams with top quality athletes at every position have 15 practices to prepare for that offense.

Watched the game last night with my Tech buddy and needless to say, Iowa shut them down.   What surprises me is GT lack of adaptation, when they played UM and Miami was able to slow down the option they threw to Demaryius Thomas!  The guy is a stud of a receiver and they didn't take advantage of weaving him into the scheme. Nevertheless, Iowa looked good enough to beat a one dimensional offense!  Congrats on your bowl victory Hawkeyes, its about time you represent in a Major bowl!

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Josh Nesbitt 14 games 162 attempts 75 completions for 1701 yds 10 TD 5 Int

Georgia Tech ????????????????????????

Passer rating: 148.7

Jordan Jefferson Passer rating: 137.2

Not to mention Nesbitt has rushed for over 1,000 yards and 18 TDs compared to Jefferson's under 200 yds of rushing and 1 TD.

I'd take Nesbitt.

Josh Nesbitt's backups

Scott Blair Passer rating: 715.6 after completing 1 of 1

Tevin Washington Passer rating: 276.4 after completing 1 of 1

Passer rating tells you nothing!

Jordan Jefferson still completed 61.5% of his passes in a year when LSU recievers struggled

I would've picked Boise State over Iowa if they was to meet in bowl game.  I still think Iowa overrated.
