The heater is on and I'm wearing my hoody jacket and I swear my toes are numb.  Winter is supposed to be 60's, not 20-40.  Besides, don't you have a fish tank to clean?

Bassn, the difference in heating between most up north homes and homes in S.Florida is gas forced air with humidifiers. Down here we have these crap electric furnaces with no humidifiers. Also are homes are not insulated as well (they should be for the A/C, but they are not) and single panes windows.

I have electric base board heat with no humidifier. I can't even touch the cat without getting a shock.

That is why we have gas heat. Still dry, but it heats the crud out of my house. I have 3 relative that have those electric heat pump systems, they suck big time. Also, I can run my heating system off my generator if there is a power failure since it only has to power the fan. No matter how bad the ice storm, I have yet to lose gas. Power plenty o times, gas never.
