Nah, I have a full beard in a week. It looks really bad though because it's a really light blond color.

  • I'll second the no go on an electric razor ..never had good luck with them. The Fusion or other premium razors is the way to go.                   T

  • I also use the fusion. Screw electric razors. Or go with the grizzly *** beard.

Anyone else learn how to shave before Al Gore invented the internet?

I usually just buy whatever 2-3 blade disposables are on sale and shave in the shower. Get a decent fog-free mirror and go at it. I don't bother with shaving creams, gels, or lotions, either. I buy a big bottle of cheap conditioner (usually Suave) and use that. It's like $1 a bottle and it's as slick as goose crap so the razor just glides along my face.

I only shave 3-4 times a week, unless I have an appointment or interview. I'm generally at home, school, fishing, or at the park watching my kids play baseball so being clean-shaven isn't all that important.

I use both electric and normal razors. I use the electric if a buddy calls and says were going out in 20 minutes. I also use it because it has a trimmer in it. Since I go weeks with out shaving Its nice. After I get the bread cut down. I just use hot water and a normal razor.

Compared to some of these younger fellows I'm a novice shaver, I've only been doing it over 50 years. Nothing compares to a straight razor for closeness, but I preferred my first Gillette safety razor I got in 1960, extremely close shave, but being nick free was a task with those blades. I have been using disposables for many years, getting good shaves that suit my needs, the big plus is never a cut or nick.

Best off with the gillettes. Also, remember to always dry off your razor blades after use. Water laying on them is the main factor that causes dullness.

as soon as i can grow a beard that doesn't make me look like a pedophile, i am doing it.

Oh it's the beard? Perhaps the child attracting bunny avatar is another aspect that could change to get NAMBLA off your tail.

I just LOL'd all over my carpet. That was funny. It's so annoying, I shaved yesterday and guess what...it's back. I wish there was an on/off switch.

I did get some Nivea for Men Post-Shave Balm and it halped a lot! No razor burn at all!

I have an electric Phillips Norelco, Does fine when I'm in a hurry. But like a few other fellas have said, the Gillete Fusion is awesome.

Bro- welcome to what seemed cool but actually isn't. I remember not being able to wait to shave when I was a kid and now I dread it. I pretty much have to shave every day and ended up settling with Mach 3's like a bunch of guys on here. JF had some good advice... get used to shaving while you shower so your pores will be opened up and it's pretty quick and painless.

I've heard quite a few people swear by the straight razors, but I've been too chicken to try that thing... end up like a Dumb and Dumber scene.

I shaved for the first time in months today for my sister's upcoming wedding....i look like a child. A 300 pound child.

For more comfort, and to get extra close - shave with the grain first, then re-lather and shave lightly against the grain. I've been doing this for about three years now, makes a world of difference. Remember that your whiskers on your neck might not grow the same direction as your face. I also shave after a hot shower. A good cream with a good brush is priceless to me. For the cheaper creams, can't beat barbasol.

It just sucks. It hurts like a ***** if you shave, but if you don't it itches like crazy.

Pain in the butt. I want to try getting a straight shave. It's just cool, LOL.

If it hurts like you know what after you shave. You are doing some thing wrong.

I used to use the Williams shave soap and a nice brush, worked pretty good, that is I thought so until I tried shave oil. It's been about 7 or 8 years and I love it, would never go back to anything else. You can actually see what you are doing as it's just an oil, and never get a rash, burn or irritation. No more neck redness, and when I'm done, no cleanup of cream, and the oil moisturizes your skin. It lasts for 6 months or so per $7 bottle. I highly recommend it to anyone who shaves.

I think I just have sensitive skin. It doesn't hurt TO shave, but the first day after if I sweat it stings.

I'll have to try that oil.
