Highest Purchased Item on Ebay

Featured Replies

Just curious what's the highest ticket price item you ever bought on Ebay and if you were nervous about the purchase.

Mine was a 37'' Sharp Aquos about 7 years ago for $3000 + $200 shipping.  Yeah, I was a bit nervous as I was new to Ebay and Paypal Buyter Protection was limited to a lesser amount at the time, but it was the cheapest price I found anywhere.  I got the TV sealed in the box w/ warranty.

I just deal with people that have high feedbacks, and top seller ratings.  These people are actually running a business, not just some random person selling stuff.  If you're safe about it, buying from ebay is not much different than buying from any other online store.  The top guys have the same quality service, usually with less hassle.

Car, tons of photographic gear. Not really. In all but one purchase north of $2500, I spoke to the seller on the phone, or in person in the case of the car.

Uh.....that would be my '06 Harley Davidson 883. It was a sweet little bike. We spoke to the seller AFTER putting down the deposit. Took the rest in cash to the pickup of the bike. The bike turned out even better than we had hoped. It took us about 5 hrs to make the drive to pick it up and didn't get nervous till we were on the road. Price was just under $6,000. Got that much out of it when we traded her in for an '08 1200 Harley

I did better: I only paid .25 for the 1/2 empty part of that bottle.

A GLX rod...not too bad.

On a related note, in college I used to surf Ebay after coming home from the bars...not a good idea.  There were a few times I blacked-out and purchased something.  When I woke up later that day, I'd see the email: 'Congrats, you have won item # ....'

Man, talk about scary.  Most of us here window shop for high-end fishing equipment; thankfully I didn't break the bank with two Ito reels, or anything else along those lines.  LOL.

The worst I did was disc golf discs.  Whew.

$1200 for a guitar (Peavey Wolfgang standard)

Next was $450 for a Lowrance 522c

500 dollars, but some car parts

There's no such thing as a better than expected 883, those things are awful from the showroom floor.  Has to be the worst riding least comfortable bike I have ever had the misfortune of being on.

i never bought anything, but i sold some idiot half a bottle of shampoo once. Crab shampoo if i remember correctly.

Mine came with a Sundowner seat. Very comfy!!!! My 1200 also has a Sundowner. Greg's came from the showroom and had a Sundowner put on before it left the showroom!!!!

dont really remember  I'd say 100.  I've sold more then bought.

The one I rode had an aftermarket seat as well, it was either a Mustang or Sundowner one.  I was referring to overall comfort not just a softer seat.

Not picking on you or anything just saying the 883 is chite no matter what.  What's the old saying, you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, yeah that.
