Yozuri Lures

Featured Replies

My dads friend recently gave us a box of about 50 various lures. He used to bass fish, but now only flyfishes, so he donated his lures to us :) . In the box, the were some storm wiggle warts and short warts, rapala original floaters, storm thundersticks, some Mega Bait jerkbaits, Spro cranks, and about 20 or so Yozuri jerkbaits (i believe they are crystal minnows or something similar). I have fished the storm lures and rapalas with success, but i was just wondering if anyone here has used the yozuri lures, as there is certainly an abundance of them.

Also, most of the yozuris have saltwater hooks, so are they intended for saltwater use (stripers maybe?)

I have used yo-zuri lipless crankbaits in the past and was very pleased.  Last summer I was killing them on a green yo-zuri lipless cb, until I lost it.

The crystal minnows and 3-d minnow(a suspender) are great bass lures.

Far as I acn tell these are sold as saltwater lures but it doesnt mean that they arent good in fresh water either.

ok thanks for the replies, i think i might swap out the hooks for some smaller trebles, the saltwater trebles are pretty big

That crystal minnow has been the best producing yo-zuri lure and those permasteel hooks are sharp so I just left them on.

I still have a crystal minnow and a lipless crank from yozuri. got them when they first came out and they're wonderful. very nice appearance and action on them. (replace the hooks right away on the cranks, imo)
