Need tips on fishing this lake

Featured Replies

I'm going to a small lake in a couple hours and just wanted to get some tips on how I should fish it.  The lake has pretty clear water, sandy bottom, only a few patches of weeds, and it's 1-10 feet for the majority of the lake.  There are a couple holes that are 20-40ft at the deepest spot.  Not much structure that I know of, if any.

I have caught bass in the shallows but, not bigger than 14".  I have found a 20"+ washed up on the shore though so there must be a few big ones in there.  Lots of gills.  Carp.  Dogfish and gars, and it was stocked with walleye a few times.  I haven't caught any yet though.

So how would you go about fishing this lake for walleye and bass?  What should I use?

Alright, roadwarrior, that thread didn't really help but, thanks anyway.  I did try the holes... I couldn't find a single decent weed patch...  ended up catching a few small bass off a trick worm and a rapala crank.  The lake just plain sucks for fishing.  I do not know where these stocked walleye are hiding out at.  Guess I'll take my serious fishing somewhere else...
