Baits for Deep Summer Fishin

Featured Replies

What ya got for fishin deep?  Jigs, deep cranks, drop shot?, shakey head.....was thinking about senko on a jig head to try this week.

Gotta find me some deep water spots first.......

I went fishing with a jig virtuoso last fall - he had us on brush piles in 20-25 feet of water, throwing a 3/8 oz. jig.  I did catch one that was pretty good sized, he caught like 12 over the two days we were fishing.  It was amazing to watch, but not sure I will ever be confident enough to hold out there for 8 hours like he did.  I have also fished this way with T-riged worms (usually 6" to 7") size on 1/4 to 3/8 oz. sinker.  The problem for me is the bites are always good ones, but there just ain't many of 'em.
