LED TV

Featured Replies

So I'm in the market for a new TV. I've been looking at LED's anyone have any advice or comments, anything on them? I've been looking at the samsung models.

I got an LG model around father's day.  I love it compared to my old TV.

However, my old TV was not LED.

I have the Samsung LED TV and there is nothing to complain about. The picture is amazing just make sure anything like a DVD player or game console you are going to use has HDMI cables it make the a difference in the picture compared to AV Audio cables or coaxial cables.

Right now I have a toshiba LCD for my main TV. This one is gonna go in my bedroom so its not gonna be very big but I still want a nice crisp picture. They say the LED backlights make for a more vibrant picture. Any confirmation?

I've got a pair of Samsung 42 LED TV's.  I really couldn't complain at all with them.  It took me a while to really get used to how good the image is.  There are times where you'd swear that stuff was 3D.  It's got amazing depth.  Football has never looked so good.  Just remember though, your picture is only as good as the feed.  Comcast sends out a disgustingly poor HD signal.  FiOS and U Verse have much, much better image quality

Like Baker said, make sure you use HDMI cables.  You will notice a difference on the LED TV's.

I have the HDMI cables on our high def tvs, but, I'd like someone to explain this.  The signal comes from the satellite on a coaxial cable, the same for some cable companies.

If a chain is only as strong as its weakest link how does an HDMI cable improve the signal received from the satellite's coaxial cable?  It seems to me that what comes in on coaxial can be carried just as well by another coaxial for the audio/visual signals.

Fiber optics are another matter.

Ya I plan on running HDMI cables I have them on my main T.V. I have Fios as my carrier. Looks like I'll be getting the LED. Samsung seems to be the top LED manufacturer from reviews and what I've been reading.

I don't notice any difference in the quality of the signal just in the picture clarity and color depth. I really notice a difference in the DVD, BlueRay, and game consoles that don't receive a feed from somewhere else.

A coaxial cable cannot carry the information that is decoded within the satellite box to its fullest extent when it comes to audio and video  going back out to a TV and/or HT-stereo receiver.  If it could, then just using composite AV cables would work as well.
