Hate to sound like 'one of those guys' but if you line your wallet and cards with aluminum foil, it blocks the device. Terrible how easy it is to get peoples info these days.

Gotta love how the "news" sensationalizes things.  Note in the story 2 things:

1.  There is not one case where this was used for criminal activity in the real world.  None.

2.  Out of 20 people, they were only able to successfully scan 5 willing participants.

Of course, that info is buried towards the end of the story.  Gotta give kudos to the guy marketing his product, however.  He got the "news" to bite.  ;D :D

I'm wondering how many "bad guys", after now learning the

technology exists, will now try to "cash-in" on this, literally.

my thoughts exactly.

i bet NOOOOOOBODY knew how to do this before this news story. but now its out there and all it takes is a little research on scanners and programs to read the data.

Eventually, some bad guy probably would have come up with it but this may force the credit card companies, and others,

to become proactive rather than reactive to holes in their security.  This is an excellent argument against the implantable rfid chips some people want to force on everyone,

that would contain all of your banking, medical and personal data.
