Verizon Iphone should be announced Tuesday!

Featured Replies

It is still the iphone 4....but it will be here 2/10/11. Gonna check it out cause my bb blows.

I think apple played the timing part wrong. Why wouldn't they have made it available before Christmas? We all knew it was coming sooner or later.

Just keep in mind you'll be locked into a 2-year contract and Verizon is changing its upgrade policy for 2 year contracts. Not exactly in favor of the customer.

As for the iPhone, you couldn't pay me to trade my Android phone for it!

That was the dumbest thing VZW could have done. A lot of people we dealt with stayed with VZW because of their great upgrade policy... Now that's out the window! NE2 is done too...

Wait....I thought you had to wait 2 to 3 years before you can get an upgrade with verizon?

Nope! The dumbest thing Verizon has done is turn down apple when the original I-phone came out.

Not for me...I won't be changing phones when my upgrade comes soon. I'm assuming I'm grandfathered in when the new program takes affect..

It all reminds me of this quote "Communism is like one big phone company."

Apple's going to be making bank on this deal... They just sold all those Iphone on AT&T, now they are going to get them all over on VZW since 90% of Iphone users hate AT&T's network :)

I wonder if they will need to buy a new phone or be able to switch it. If they're smart they'll have to buy a new one.

EDIT- Just checked cant switch.http://support.vzw.com/faqs/iphone/iphone_faq.html

Yeah AT&T is GSM and Verizon is CDMA... Technically Verizon's 4G LTE is GSM now, but I don't think its the same frequency as AT&T... I haven't really looked at LTE's backend yet haha

So what's the big deal with the iphone? What does it do thats so great? I know the basics about it but dang man, people act like it's a gold bar or something.

Well before the Droids hit the scene IMO it hands down blue every other smart phone out of the water.  I've held out for this long with a blackberry storm first generation waiting on the iphone to come to verizon.  I was finally going to go with a Droid since they have some really nice phones out until I got word a couple months back that Verizon was really going to get it this time.  But now that I have the option I will definitely get the i phone.  Some people will get it for the name but I guess to me the main difference now is that the i phone has Itunes and works as an ipod as well.  Don't get me wrong the Droids and other smartphones definitely can play music just as well but the ipod is the most popular mp3 player out there and the one that most people are use to.  I like the Apple OS to but I haven't used either of them enough to give an comparison.

Not true...it's all relative to your location.  Where I live, I'd never switch to Verizon, AT&T has WAY better coverage.  Verizon is hit or miss within feet for service in some places, even worse where I went to college.  I personally don't have many problems with AT&T.
