I love this old shot :-)

Taken totally by accident.... I had reached up to hit the timer button on my camera, then sat back down... but thought I missed the button. So, as I stand back up to hit the button again... "Flash" ! Doh !

Anyway, it was a big fish..... 13.4 I think.... But if I told you this was a head shot of a 20.6 some guy caught down in So Cal, wouldn't you believe it ? :-)

Oh yea... maybe it was the 20.6 that I caught.... just forgot about that one I guess ;) LOL

Peace,

Wow, that thing has a massive head!  Cool pic, Chris.

Man I'm jealous.  We have a lot of good fishing oppurtunities here in MN,  but giant bass isn't one of them.  I've caught 4 bass in my lifetime that were 6#8oz. ,  my PB.  If you catch a 7lber. in MN your doing good.

Yea', like I say, it was a big fish.... It's just that that particular photo makes it look like the head of a "world class bass" :)

I think this was a regular photo of it....

Nice!  I notice the lure in his mouth. That is quite large also. Big baits for big fish.  What other equipment were you using when you caught him?

Its amazing what that one little tiny stretch of bank on the left will tell you, lol.

Very cool pic!

Hey Moby, just a heavy action spinning rod (about like inshore saltwater) and 50 lb braid. My normal stuff for heavy swimbaits. Certainly not required for the bass..... heck, if I would use a micro-light for Sturgeon !  :)

Hey Bizz, yea.... What it says is, that stretch, on that pond "used to produce some big bass"..... back in the good ol' days. Oh well. Glad I was there :)

Good grief, that looks like one of those bass mailboxes (that my wife won't even consider ;D)

I never managed a double there. Steve put me on one hell of a scrawny 9-10 though, lol. I havent been there for years. I just thought it was funny how the tiniest little slice of bank is so instantly recognizable. Did she come off of the "other ;)" dam?

Here she is. Just another cool bucket face shot. Sure would have like to have caught her at her prime.

Last time I went there they kicked me out.  I'll never go again. :-[

Branuss, why ? Did you have an outboard mounted to your boat ? (I hate that rule :( Just because of that, I can't use my new(er) boat, but have to borrow my old boat back from my buddy, since the motor is light enough to take off of it....

The people that run Rancho have always been super cool with me though.

They will not let you fish after the gates close unless you have a camping permit. It turns out that this has been one of their rules for years, they have just never enforced it. So now its like $30 to nightfish instead $5.

Neat picture Chris,Thanks.

HAHah,  yeah it does!  Too bad on the mailbox thing.

Yep, that is why I got kicked out.  The reason why I won't go there again is because the guy was being a male genitalia after I told him to sign me up for the camping permit and he said the gates are closed and I couldn't purchase one.  He said if we weren't gone when he made his next loop he would call the "authorities".   >:(
