Bankless quarry?

Featured Replies

Anyone ever fish a quarry with practically no banks? The water is about 60' in the deepest part The banks just about go straight down. There is however walleye, smallmouth and of coarse crappies bluegills and who knows what else. Seems like after the spawn is over you can't hardly find em!

Sooo what would you try. I have used plastics, crankbaits( haven't tried a deep one) rattletraps and surface baits. I catch one every now and then but not enough to figure them out. Also normal days you can see probably 15'.

Any thoughts?

I will definately try that. Thanks great site here!

I would try a spinnerbait with willow blades.

First thing you need to do is try and find something a little different. Sunken tree, flats, rocky point or something. Doubt the whole lake is the same. When you find a good spot then use plastics and jigs. I fish a lake for smallmouth that is much deeper than that and also has very steep banks or none at all in most places. The key is to find the fish which means finding structure thats a little better than the rest of the lake.
