i wana go fishing trout fishing for the first time.

are ther any locations that neead to be checked for winter and alte fall trout.

i fish lake casitas california.

water is kinda clear but only like 6-8 foot visibility....

any help would be great.

rainbow trout are goin to spawn in the spring and will be in the creeks and rivers right now, try roe (salmon or trout eggs), worms, and spinners.

Not too sure about CA but around my parts, I'm catching most of them on 1/16 and 1/12 oz.  gold Kastmaster spoons.  I have also caught a few on small, small crankbaits and jerk baits.  On fly gear, I'm using a San Juan Worm in pink and red.

if it works stick with it. No point in changing until the fish run out. I do alot of trout fishing and find that what i mentioned works, but there are little tricks to those techniques that make them work

trout are head upstream in winter and downstream back into lakes,ponds in the spring when they spawn. I fished trout for 3 years before getting into bass now im addicted

in or near the streams like everyone else said.

rapala j-5's fished hard and fast are a top producer for me.
