carp fishing middle TN

Featured Replies

Im in nashville and im getting into carp fishing on a fly rod, wondering if anybody can tell me some places near me that maby they have seen alot of carp while bass fishing or something. they like muddy flats... its pretty fun catching a ten pound carp on a 4 wt fly rod, ask me about it if your interested. they call it the poor mans bonefish but i think it would give a bonefish a run for its money,

thanks- dux

Go to Melton Hill Res or the Caney Fork River just to the west, both have carp and I believe there's a buffalo (the fish)  run in the Caney in the sprng.

Totally agree. I love catching bass, etc, but pound for pound, carp are one of the best fighters out there. I've never understood why they get the reputation they do. I've never caught one on a fly rod before though -- I bet that's a blast!

::) sound's like you need to catch some healthier bass

Or you need to catch some healthier carp... ;)

Tennessee Wildside did a show on flyfishing for carp at Cheatham lake.  They said it was one of the better spots in Middle TN because it has quite a few shallow flats.
