I was at alpine lake this weekend and took my cousins fishing and caught some large mouths, as well as a ton of these. My cousin said they were some sort or bass, but I have no idea...

Those are Green Sunfish.

They had blue spots all over them, they were really a cool looking fish.

On another note, got two young kids hooked on fishing because of the constant bite we had. That was even better than catching the bass.

Looks like a Warmouth to me (Chaenobryttus gulosus).

Not a warmouth, green sunfish, Lepomis cyanellus.  BTW, Chaenobryttus gulosus has been relegated to synonym status, the correct scientific name for Warmouth for the time being is Lepomis gulosus.
