I've been lookin at several specially made simmin jigs and I've noticed that most of them are 1/4oz. That seems kinda lighweight to me, what is yalls favorite weight for a swimmin jig?

I have tried several weights and I have caught more bass on the black and blue 1/4 oz swimjig than all of them combined. when I want to change up I will go from a single tail to a double tail grub... and if I really want to bulk up I will go with a skirted double tailed grub... my personal best came on a swim jig with a single tail grub...

I have a couple of favorite brands... Brovarney out of Wisconsin does a very nice swimbait... but a bit on the expensive side. I also scored 20 of the KVD BPS swim jigs when they were on sale for .99 and 15 of them I got in 1/4 oz.

I use the booyah swimming jig in 3/8 and 1/2 oz I get mine from bass pro shops for about 2.30 I imagine you can find them cheaper elsewhere on the internet I just am lucky to live within a short distance to the springfield missouri store.

I'm agree with mobassfisherman big time and use the booyah swim jigs, they are made quite well and i like how the bait is made up

Most often throw a Brovarney in 1/4 oz.  Great majority of time it is with a single tail grub.  Have used doubles or chunks on occasion.  Change speed by grub size as well as by jig size.  I sometimes go to 1/8 oz if I am working topped out stuff slowly.  Use braid for this, especially if in vegetation.  

While a 1/4oz jig may seem light (grub weighs something, too) I can throw it quite far.  I keep it in the top of the column most of the time, moving quickly.  Most often I am in clear water, therefore the long casts.  If I want to go deeper and fast(er) I usually go up to 3/8, or change the grub size/style.  Probably 95% of the time it's a 1/4oz, tho.  This is about my favorite method.

Brovarney definately, but I also have come to like the KVD swimjig.  I bought a bunch at the 99. sale at bps, and found that there awesome.  The hook on the light side.

1/4oz about 75% of the time, 3/8 if I want to fish a little deeper.

They are a little pricey but guaranteed to run true and come with a GAmmie! can;t go wrong with the 1/4oz.

i just got one from all-terrain tackle,3/8 oz. in blue shimmer shad.havent got bit on it yet but only tried it once.
