I was at Pickwick last weekend with over 200 contestants in a "local" tournament and most of the FLW guys prefishing! Man, I was glad to be below the action, on the river. The FLW is there in force:

I'll probably go to the weigh in Saturday.  I still haven't fished Pickwick though.

Thats awesome guys, i would love to go to a large scale event like that! unfortunately i have to wait til Dec. 16 to see the action televised....... :-/

Temps are supposed to drop 10 degrees over Thursday.  I am anxious to see how they do.  What do you think it will take to win it?

The winner is based on the four day total weight. I would guess 65 lbs, but a predicted cold front and low water could drop the winning weight into the low 50's.

Which tournament was last Saturday out of McFarland? Any idea what won it?

Thanks,

Matt

Roadwarrior were you at Pickwick for the Bass World Sports Classic? That was last weekend with over 200 boats + FLW pre fishing I can guess it was a mad house, let alone if the "Local" tourney you were at was not the BWSTA Classic.

I guess that was it. I fish below the dam, so the crowd wasn't a problem for me, but the parking lots on the lake ramps were packed. In addition to that tournament, many or most of the FLW guys were there to pre-fish, too. One of the guys I fished with said he had seen Larry Nixon and Gary Yamamoto at one of the local restaurants. I didn't see or recognize anyone famous, but I wasn't really out looking for them either.

A local favorite Brad Wilemon got 7th place on the pro side. It was his first FLW tournament he fished! Way to go Brad!!!!!!!!!!!!

My guess was 65 lbs to win, the actual four day winning total was 60lb - 10 oz.

Good guess RW!! Big Bass was a 5lb 15oz smallmouth 8-). Seems most of the top 5 were fishing jig/trailers in 15' to 20' water over shell beds. Still in the summer pattern!
