Tin makes a great point, and you have to wonder how todays anglers would do when the Classic didn't announce where it was being held ahead of time.  Competitors  were flown to the location a day ahead of time with their tackle and rods and reels.  One of the great strengths Clunn attributes to himself is that he is great a locating fish without help.   Without all the practice time given today, Clunn feels like he would win more often still today. Granted though 76, which was Clunns first Classic win, was the last time they done that.

If they continue to hold the classic in late February in the lower south you can expect to see KVD add to his list of titles.  This scenario is taylor made for his style of fishing.  They are fishing when the water first begins to warm and the big girls are coming to the party.

He did the same thing last year.  He found a spawning flat where the females were starting to move into and he sat on it for three days and milked it dry with a crankbait.

Unless they change the date or move further north he should continue to dominate.

Moving it north will probably only help him since he is from Michigan and has a ton of experience there.
