Craw Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Cold and rainy today, here in the Commonwealth. I was determined to fish though, so I loaded up and headed for the water(New River). Fished for about an hour before I finally hooked up. The action then became pretty fast and furious for about an hour. Got this little pig on an Eakin's Finesse Jig. I had been tossing a jerkbait on and off, with no luck. Hit a small stretch of river where it finally started to pay off. Got this one on a LC Pointer 78DD. This little guy fell for it also. Moved up to the 100SP, and got this one. I'm still not to good with my camera. This one is kinda blurry. Ended up getting 8 today. 7 smallies and a redeye. The weather was miserable but I had one heck of a good time. These are my last fish of 2006...Hope you guys like the photos! Quote

basspro48 Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Nice fish man, do you run a jet in the river? Quote
craigaria Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 Great fish. I stayed at a friends vacation house up there 2 years ago. It was in N. Carolina, about 100 yards from the Virginia line. Their house was on the new river. What a beautiful place to fish. We fished it for the weekend and caught a bunch of red eyes. Had a great time! Good luck and congrats too... Quote
