Body of water: Chickahominy lake/swamp  

Conditions: clear skies, windy, 75 degree air temp

water conditions: lightly stained, 65 degrees

Techniques fished: flipping and pitching jigs and t-rigged baby brush hogs to cypress trees and shallow grass in creek arms and the mainlake. Casting 1/2oz football jigs, shakey head worms, and c-rigged brush hogs in 12' of water near the dam and on steep bluff banks. Casting spinnerbaits around windblown points, cypress trees, and shallow grass lines. Skipping senkos and trick worms under docks. Even frogs over grass mats.

Fish caught: One small keeper bass, and one small pike

We figured that due to the warm water temps that the fish would be in a shallow spawn or prespawn mode, but they just weren't anywhere to be found. What did I do wrong?

I'm having the same problem and whoever has the answer let us know!

Same situation in Central Va. I'm guessing it's because the water temp drop lately. The week before last, the air temps were in the 80's and the water was warming up fast-the catching was good. The recent colder weather dropped the water temp., we had some nights in the 30's -BAD THING this time of year.

I had a day like that on Saturday.  I then threw out a rootbeer Senko and all was better...

Had the same problem Saturday and Sunday in eastern NC. Started out bam,

bam, bam and three fish in the boat, Not a nother bite the rest of the day. 8-)

i'm sure the bait monkey has something to do with it.
